….more About Megan
Megan has been studying and practicing various forms of holistic healing for over 10 years. Inspired by her own suffering to find true healing, she sought out a multi-faceted education in the field of natural medicine. Her journey in the healing arts began in the religion department at Temple University where she studied Hindu philosophy. Inspired by her studies of yogic texts, Megan could not resist diving deep in to a Hatha yoga practice that, she soon discovered, would heal her body, her mind, and her heart. In 2004, Megan became deeply dedicated to her meditation practice and studies of sacred geometry and metaphysics which led her to become a certified practitioner of Reiki. In 2006, Megan graduated from Temple University with a B. That same year, she also graduated from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition as a Certified Holistic Health Counselor and from her second 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training. Megan has been blessed with the guidance of many gifted yoga teachers including Renata Gregori, Simon Park, Adam Sobel, Joey Smith, and Sri Dharma Mittra. In 2007, Megan studied with Michael “Mukti” Buck of the Vedic Conservatory, expanding her yoga and healing arts practice to include Vedic Thai Massage. In 2010, Megan chose to deepen her education at the School of Natural Medicine in Boulder, CO. It is here she has studied naturopathy, herbal medicine, iridology, essential oils therapry, reflexology, healing diets, flower essences, and sound healing. In 2012, Megan trained with DONA to become a birth and post-partum doula. As a doula, Megan has found her passion for supporting and offering guidance to pregnant women, new moms, and their families.

Happy Halloween! 🎃👻🎃

This is my zero waste trick-or-treat, and I’m proud to say it’s 11 years strong! Every year the kids (and their parents!) tell me how much they love it. 🧡

Here’s what makes it special:
🍎 No plastic wrappers, so nothing ends up in the landfill
🌈 No dyes or artificial flavors, just real, simple, wholesome treats
🌱 Every treat supports small local farms, so your sweet tooth does some good

Halloween can be fun, festive, AND kind to the planet. Small changes add up, and a bowl of candy can be a conversation starter for a more sustainable neighborhood. 👻

Who else is handing out something different this year? 👇

🎃👹 **Spotted in the mulch: Satan’s pocket pen** 👹🎃

Happy Halloween week! While the rest of you were carving pumpkins, nature went ahead and grew its own spooky decoration.

Meet the Devil’s Dipstick ( Phallus rubicundus) blood-orange stalk, a tip dripping with dark olive slime, rising straight out of the wood chips like something crawled up from the underworld to check the oil level on Hell’s furnace. 🔥

Fun (and slightly creepy) facts:
🦇 That black goo is called *gleba*, and it smells like rotting meat. That’s on purpose. Flies can’t resist it, and they spread the spores.
💀 It pops up overnight, looking like nothing was there yesterday. Very “haunted garden” energy.
🕯️ It’s a stinkhorn, which might be the most metal mushroom family name ever.

Nature said “no need to buy decorations.” 🧡🖤

I hope this message finds you well as we begin to usher in this beautiful fall season. I have already seen some of the leaves have started to turn bright, beautiful colors as they begin to drop from the trees. And before we know it, what was once up will soon be down. What once reached toward the sky will soon blanket the ground below. As the leaves settle and the season unfolds, what new possibilities will cozy up and take root beneath foliage this coming winter season?

I’ve been listening deeply to my heart, to the voices and needs of my community, and to the changes unfolding in the world around me. Through this process, I feel a renewed sense of purpose and inspiration to dedicate my offerings to supporting women on their journey toward vibrant health, holistic wellness, and abundance. In alignment with this vision, all offerings, both online and in person, will be a donation based, creating greater accessibility and allowing each person to participate in a way that feels right for them.

Many threads have woven together to bring this vision into focus. At the heart of it is the belief that it is our birthright to cultivate sovereignty over our own health and well-being—to learn how to care for our bodies, feel vibrant and alive, and experience joy and fulfillment. Access to clean water, nourishing food, and the knowledge to support our own wellness should be fundamental, not a privilege. Yet we live in a world where we are constantly surrounded by messages, systems, and influences that often pull us away from these essential truths. In the midst of it all, it has become far too easy to lose our way and disconnect from the wisdom within ourselves and the simple foundations of a healthy, fulfilling life.

Offering services on a donation basis invites us, as a community, to step more deeply into our integrity—to breathe life into the gift economy and explore what it means to live in sacred reciprocity. It creates space for each of us to honor what is true for us in any given moment, and to give and receive in a way that feels aligned, authentic, and mutually nourishing.

With that said, I am offering a suggested donation sliding scale of $65 to $185 per hour. These amounts are intended as guidelines. You are welcome to contribute whatever feels appropriate and accessible to you. Any contribution exceeding $125 per hour will be directed towards a Scholarship Fund, helping extend these offerings to women who may otherwise face financial barriers. No one will be turned away for lack of funds.

My long-term vision is to establish a free natural medicine clinic where healing, care, and support are accessible to all, regardless of financial circumstances. Offering donation-based services is the first step toward bringing this vision into reality. The next phase is already taking shape as I work to develop a free online resource library to expand access to natural medicine education, knowledge, and resources for everyone.

If this mission resonates with you and you feel inspired to be part of it, I welcome the opportunity to connect. Please reach out to learn how you can help bring this vision to life through monthly donations or an affiliate partnership.

The more we nurture our own healing and well-being, the more we can offer to those around us. Together, we can cultivate a healthier, happier, and more connected community—one rooted in compassion, empowerment, and collective well-being.

Thank you for being here, for listening, and for being part of this journey. Every connection, every act of generosity, and every step toward greater well-being helps bring this vision to life. May we continue to support one another in remembering our innate capacity to heal, thrive, and create a healthier world together.

With love and gratitude,
Sunset Moon Wellness

Just a bit of charcoal ice to start your day 🧊

This morning, I wanted to send a gift to someone at a far distance. Instead of going with the corporate, commercial businesses with available selections and delivery, I took the time, did a little bit of research and found a small business local to the recipient. I called them on the phone and asked them if they would make a local delivery. Of course they said yes and they were very kind and personable. This is just a reminder to you to shop small, NOT just during the holiday season, but ALL the time. It might take a little bit of extra time and effort, but it’s worth it 😉

Wishing you all joy and happiness this Yule tide season 🌈❄️🌲
