Daylight saving time will end at 2 a.m. on Sunday, November 1, 2026. Here are some things to consider to help you adjust:
🍁It can take several days or even weeks for our brains to fully adjust to the new schedule.
🍁Maximize your exposure to natural light. Open your curtains wide, go for a walk or sit outside or enjoy your morning coffee on the porch.
🍁Set your clocks back before bed Saturday night. Even though the time change doesn’t happen until 2 a.m. Sunday, it’s best to be prepared so you won’t throw off your entire day.

We offer both Heartsaver and BLS (Basic Life Support) CPR training. The Heartsaver training is ideal for the general public (non-medical professionals) and focuses on one person CPR and AED use (automated external defibrillator) along with some basic first aid. The goal for Heartsaver training is to provide you with skills in an emergency when you are the help until the first responders arrive. The BLS training is a higher level of CPR and it is geared toward medical professionals. BLS will typically include team and single-rescuer life support and saving skills. Whichever certification you need, we can help! For questions, or to RSVP for one of the classes, call (419)562-5871 ext 1206.

In 2019, the United States Senate passed a resolution designating October 28th as National First Responders Day to honor the men and women putting their lives on the line. They are firefighters, police, emergency medical technicians (EMTs), paramedics, corrections officers, dispatchers, and military. In an emergency, they’re the first on the scene, often putting their own lives at risk. Serving as a national day of gratitude, we pay tribute to their endless hours and around the clock service provided to our community. Often, the very people saving lives are our neighbors, friends and family members. Thank you to all of our local first responders

While most sore throats are caused by a viral infection, strep throat is actually the result of a bacterial infection that is more common in children than adults. A simple, rapid strep test by your doctor can help determine if it is a bacterial infection causing the pain and illness. A positive test result will often lead to a prescription of antibiotics to help you feel better. In general, strep throat will be a sudden onset of pain when swallowing, fever, swollen lymph nodes, tiny red spots on the roof of the mouth and sometimes white patches on the tonsils. Usually you will not have a cough, runny nose, hoarseness of the voice or pink eye along with strep throat - those all go along with a viral infection, not a bacterial infection. People with strep throat should stay home from school or work (or daycare) until they are fever-free and have taken their antibiotics for at least 12 hours. National Lead Poisoning Prevention Week (NLPPW) was created to raise awareness about the dangers of lead poisoning and ways to prevent childhood exposure to lead.
There is no safe lead level for children. And there is no way to reverse lead poisoning damage once it is done. Childhood lead poisoning can cause brain & nervous system damage, slowed development, hearing & speech impairments, and behavior problems. All zip codes in Crawford County are deemed high-risk areas for lead exposure. Children can be exposed through paint chips or paint dust, soil, water, and certain items (including many toys) that come into the US from other countries.
There are a few simple things you can do to help protect your family from lead:
• Get your child tested. A simple blood test is the only way to know if your child has been exposed to lead. State law requires lead testing of all young children enrolled in Medicaid at ages 1 and 2.
• Get your home tested.
• When renovating, follow lead-safe work practices and requirements.
