3 signs your parent may need more help at home 👇

Northwell Health is understood the mission and is answering the call

Northwell announced the launch of the Institute for Healthy Aging, a systemwide initiative designed to transform how healthcare is delivered as people age.

The health system’s 28 hospitals, physician practices, outpatient programs, research facilities and community programs will be unified under a single mission: to help adults and their loved ones not just manage illness but prevent it — preserving health, independence and quality of life across the aging journey.

The WHY behind Start Smart Plus. 💜

My grandmother had dementia. But what really changed things for me was watching my stepfather decline.

It took darn near two years to get a diagnosis—despite my mother and me knowing something wasn't right.

During that time, I dealt with doctors who wouldn't listen, a dealership that sold him a brand-new SUV, safety concerns that forced my mother to leave her home for six months, and countless trips to Florida setting up home care, medications and appointments.

And here's the thing:

I worked in healthcare. I owned a home care agency. And I was STILL overwhelmed.

I was also raising my children, being a wife and running a business.

That's when I realized families don't just need more resources.

They need someone who will hear the WHOLE story and help them figure out what comes next.

But what about our seniors?
Social media can be a lifeline—keeping seniors connected to family, friends and community. But too much can become a problem.
And scammers know exactly where to find them.
It can start with a friend request, a comment or a simple:
"Hello. How are you today?"
Conversation becomes a relationship.

Then comes the request for money, gift cards or personal information.
