This veteran came to me not really knowing where to start with his VA claim. He had the evidence, the history, and legitimate conditions... he just needed help organizing everything the right way and building the claim as strong as possible from the beginning.

So that’s exactly what we did.

We took the time to review the records, identify the strongest conditions, build the claim strategy, prepare for the C&P exams, and make sure everything was presented clearly and accurately to the VA, that they had every reason to help this veteran.

Result: from zero to 80% on his initial claim.

That is a strong start, and I’m genuinely happy for him and his family. We’re not done yet. We’re already moving into Phase 2 to further develop a few conditions that were underrated, denied, or still need more evidence.

This veteran has been through a lot, and he deserves to have his claim fully and properly developed. Just strong evidence, good strategy, and consistent follow through.

“I don’t want to be rated too high. I may want a government job one day.”

I hear this from Veterans all the time, and I understand why it makes people hesitate.

But a VA disability rating is not a label that says you cannot work. It is meant to reflect the impact of your service-connected conditions on your life. Plenty of Veterans with higher ratings still work, build careers, and pursue federal jobs. In some cases, a service-connected rating can even help with Veteran hiring preference.

The part that needs more thought is TDIU. That benefit is based on not being able to maintain substantially "gainful employment" because of service-connected conditions.

But do not let something you heard in a Facebook group make you downplay a real condition or avoid exploring benefits you may have earned.

You can be honest about what service has cost you and still want a full-time career, purpose, and future.

Before making a decision based on fear, make sure you know which type of rating you are actually talking about.

Something we hear from Veterans more often than people realize:

“I don’t want to make it sound worse than it is.”

Usually, that comes after someone has explained years of poor sleep, isolation, missed work, medication changes, tension at home, or difficulty staying focused… in about two sentences.

I understand it.

Most of us were taught to push through, keep moving, and not make a big deal out of what we carry.

But there is a difference between exaggerating and explaining.
Exaggerating changes the truth. Explaining gives the truth enough context for a provider, examiner, or rater to feel it.

Saying “my sleep is bad” is not the same as explaining that you wake up every couple of hours, go to work exhausted, and still have to function the next day.

What you experience is not weakness, and you are not gaming the system.

It is being honest enough for the record to reflect real life.
And no one should have to sound dramatic to be understood. But we also should not leave the most important parts unsaid.

I want to congratulate this Veteran! 🥳🙌🏼

She reached out to me after being stuck at 90%. She already knew a lot about the VA claims process and is genuinely one of the kindest people I’ve worked with. But sometimes, you can only do so much on your own before the right support becomes necessary.

She needed a strong private DBQ that accurately reflected her real symptoms, daily struggles, and functional impairment. Not just another rushed or watered down C&P exam that failed to capture the full picture.

We moved quickly, stayed organized, and wasted no time. But when the VA issued the decision, they denied the increase.

At first, it was a stomach drop moment.

Then we read the decision letter closely and noticed something important: her new private DBQ was not listed under the evidence considered, which was surely submitted properly.

That was a major issue, and it is exactly why every decision letter needs to be reviewed carefully.

We submitted the evidence again with a strong rebuttal statement explaining what had been overlooked. This time, the VA got it right and granted the increase, bringing this Veteran to 100% P&T.

The process is not always straightforward, and it does not always go perfectly the first time. But Elevate Liberty stays focused on the evidence, the details, and making sure Veterans receive a fair review.

I am extremely happy for her. This was well deserved, and I am grateful she trusted me to support her through the process.💯🙏

BIG WIN. 🇺🇸

This veteran had extensive treatment documented throughout service, so service connection was not the biggest concern here. The real challenge was building the right filing sequence, using clean claim titles, and organizing the evidence in a way the VA could clearly follow.

Once everything was properly laid out, we put together the strongest filing plan to start with. The result: all 10 claimed conditions were approved and service connected, leading to a combined 70% rating.

That matters, because it shows the VA had a clear, well-structured picture of the claims, and it also gives this veteran multiple strong pathways for future increases.

I’m very happy for this veteran and grateful to have helped get him a strong start on his VA rating journey. Looking forward to helping him keep building from here. 🫡

Start now, not later.

When it comes to VA disability compensation, there’s a big misconception I hear all the time from veterans:

“I’m hurting because of all the training.”
“I got hurt jumping off a tank.”
“My flat feet got worse in the military.”

And a lot of the time, they’re right. The military puts real wear and tear on the body. Repetitive movements, hard training, heavy gear, field problems, rough landings, and injuries that never got properly documented happen all the time. Most of us have been there in one way or another.

But when it comes to filing for VA disability compensation, evidence matters.

You should not just shotgun claim every condition and hope something sticks. That usually slows the process down, weakens the presentation, and makes the whole claim look messy.

This veteran is a young man who is still serving in the Guard. No DD214. No deployments yet. No long stretches of Title 10 or Title 32 orders in the file. At first glance, he was not an easy case to qualify.

But once we broke it down and uncovered the full story, everything started to make sense.

He was injured during Annual Training while conducting night operations and took a 5-foot fall into a creek. An LOD was documented. Treatment records were gathered from multiple facilities. Orders and key supporting documents were pulled together. We laid the evidence out the right way for the VA.

And boom.. a strong start to his journey.

There are still other issues that may have stemmed from this injury, but just because something is affecting you does not mean it is ready to be claimed yet. First, you build the evidence. Then, you build the strategy.

We’ll keep working with this veteran over time and continue chipping away at higher ratings where the evidence supports it. But for now, this is a big win and a reminder of something important:

Do not wait until years later to start building your case. Start now. 🙌🏼

From our very first conversation, this vet was sharp and informed...

She had already done a lot right on her own stayed consistent with treatment, kept fighting through the claims process, and pushed herself all the way to 80%.

But like a lot of veterans, she eventually hit that point where effort alone was not enough. She did not need more guessing. She needed a real strategy.

This client just went from 0% to 60% VA disability, but, this win came from only ONE serious right knee injury....🦵

Instead of letting it get treated like simple “knee pain,” we made sure the claim reflected the full picture of the condition: including ACL tear residuals, post-surgical limitations, instability, reduced range of motion, and painful scars.

That matters, because the VA can rate different parts of a knee condition separately when the evidence is developed and structured the right way. A lot of veterans are leaving ratings on the table because their claim was filed too broadly, too simply, or without enough strategy behind it.

At the same time, the VA continues tightening its process as regulations, standards, and exam practices evolve. That means strong claim structure matters now more than ever.

The best time to file was yesterday. The second best time is now.

For this veteran, now, we move into Phase 2. Building out the strongest secondary claims and continuing the push for the most accurate rating possible. Stay tuned for another increase.
