Week 33 and growing 😳🥰 Finally getting to the point that no position is comfortable to breathe or relax. I spent most of the night awake, tossing and turning (let me tell you the struggle in that! Lol)
Instead of getting upset at the lack of sleep, I’m choosing the mindset to be present in the moment. To use it to prepare myself for some sleepless nights ahead once she is born.
It’s like training in the gym, except for training my muscles, I’m training my mind and body to adapt to a new situation. ++++
Many of us struggle with change. ++++
But HOW you struggle is up to you.
Meaning, you can choose to see the struggle as negative, overwhelming, unwanted and every crappy feeling that can go with it... OR... you can choose to embrace the change and realize this is YOUR time to shine, to grow, to evolve into someone who is adaptable.

Why would that be important?
Being able to adapt means less resistance emotionally, mentally and physically. When we resist change, the challenge can be so overwhelming that we break down. Our coping strategies fly out the window, our health suffers (physically, mentally and emotionally)
For someone who has been fit the majority of her life (minus a 4year period where I was a good 60lbs overweight- college years 🤪) it’s been a HUGE challenge to see my body change. To feel out of control not only physically, but my hormones, mood swings, tears, fears, crankiness... name it, I’ve had to double down on my mindset and my beliefs!
Instead of allowing myself to be overwhelmed and freaking out about the changes, I choose to see this as a new chapter, an opportunity to grow into being a better human being, to love on a different level.
A love not just for my growing child, but my husband and especially self love!!
Realizing that what I look like on the outside doesn’t define who I am as a person... at all! +++
That’s only a percentage of the whole picture. Embracing that kindness, grace, humility, compassion and acceptance are more important and will help others FAR more than what someone looks like. We all know looks can be deceiving!

31 weeks and my bladder and ribs are being used as boxing bags 🤣

This little girl is moving, twirling, kicking,punching and rolling around... it’s like Disneyland in there I guess 🤷🏼‍♀️🤣

We started Bradley Method classes this week and I’m so excited to learn more about the labor and birthing process as the human body was created to do naturally, without drugs. I’m absolutely fascinated by what the body is capable of!

I’m learning so much about the woman’s body. So much that I’m shocked that it’s not more common knowledge. We live in these bodies, yet most of us really don’t know just what miracles it can do, how it should function and how we can become more in tuned and empowered by its magnificence!
Ladies, we are capable of so much!! SO MUCH!
But the one thing that is becoming crystal clear about this pregnancy and leading into bringing life, is that there is so much mindset work behind it. 🧠
Our internal monologues truly have the power to make things physically easier or more difficult depending on the tapes we allow to repeat in our minds, how we choose to see things (perspective).
My encouragement to you this week is to take a moment and step away from the every day chaos we are surrounded by and just be still.
Reconnect with yourself. Listen to your breathing, is it calm and rhythmic? Is it short and frantic? Take a moment to feel the beat of your heart and remember that you’re human, you’re allowed to feel, you’re allowed to be overwhelmed, you’re allowed to be happy, you’re allowed to be JUST AS YOU ARE!
A moment of self love and appreciation can change your day. Set your intention to be more in your body and less in your thoughts. Focus on the positives in your life and choose gratitude for the things, people and situations in your life.

The moment of realization that while you’re creating life and going through the journey of pregnancy which includes anything and everything ranging from morning sickness, sleepless nights, hormone swings, self doubt, body insecurity, fill in the blanks.... she eventually has to come into this world.

Which is the point, right? But when you’re terrified of labor and birth this realization can send you into a “mild” panic. I say mild, but as time gets closer, the anxiety begins to kick in that this is REALLY happening, the growing of the baby is the “easy” part 😳

As a health coach who heavily focuses on this has been my biggest challenge yet. Working through the feelings surrounding this whole experience. Realizing that my mindset is key to the success of a healthy, calm and safe pregnancy and while I know conceptually what to do to ease these anxieties, really sitting with those feelings and meditating on them, has been a roller coaster ride!

The journey to becoming a mother (particularly if you thought you would never be one) is full of ups and downs. A plethora of self talk, both positive and negative:
-I have no idea what I’m doing
-am I eating the right things?
-what am I going to do when I can’t get her to stop crying?
-I can’t function on minimal sleep, how am I going to survive the first few months?
-Am I being a good wife? This isn’t just about me, but the journey my husband is going through. I want to make sure his feelings and thoughts are heard and validated as well.
-Is my body ever going to return to normal?
-I don’t want stretch marks, this coconut oil better work (which ladies, the truth is, if it’s gonna happen, it’s gonna happen. Learning to accept that fact is a journey of its own)
-so many thoughts and feelings...

And at the end of it, what I always land on is this:
Since the dawn of man, women have been having children, parents have survived the lack of sleep, navigated the tricky obstacles of parenthood, juggled between home and work life, have had support from family and friends and to me, the most important, is God is there holding our hands (or carrying us) through the challenges.
I don’t know how I’m going to make it through a natural labor and birth, but I know it’s happening either way and it’s going to be just fine. I stand on through this process to get me through and the unconditional love and support from my husband. (Who seriously, is a saint!)

I want to give a shout out to all the husbands out there who continue to love on and support their wives and face the brunt of our mood swings, snappy behaviors (which has nothing to do with them and everything to do with our shifting hormones, sorry guys 🥺) who rub our bellies, remind us we are doing a great job and show us through their actions, that we are in this together ♥️ and together, as a team, we will kick ass as parents! 💪🏼😎
🥂 So here’s to becoming a Mom and embracing the , , and roller coaster of emotions that pregnancy brings and to the Dads who are going through their journey as well!
P.S. how soon after giving birth is it appropriate for a tequila shot? 🥃🤣

As we head into summer it’s SUPER important to stay hydrated.
💧 Make sure you’re drinking plenty of water- the recommenced is 1/2 your body weight in oz. (so if you weigh 150lbs, aim for 75oz of water)
If you’re spending a lot of time outdoors, sweating, working out or doing anything activity wise, increase that water intake.

I love in particular when I need an electrolyte boost.
The minute it touches your tongue you can feel the instant hydration and the taste is the BEST out of any other brand I’ve tried! And it’s an USDA organic certified, so nothing but wholesomeness 👌🏼

I realize I haven’t been sharing my personal journey through pregnancy.
To be honest, it’s been a challenge on an emotional and mental level and I’ve felt conflicted whether to share something so vulnerable.
But, given I ask my clients to be vulnerable and authentic, it’s only right for me to follow my own advice (hey, I’m human too 🙃)
The truth is, I never wanted kids. It wasn’t until I was in my mid 30’s when I softened to the idea that MAYBE one day I will have a child, but it still never was a drive.
In some ways, I felt ashamed for not being like every other female I came across, who couldn’t wait to be a mom, who got baby fever and all mushy anytime they saw a child. Sometimes I thought I was totally “weird” because I didn’t seem to possess this intrinsic need of motherhood.
It wasn’t until I met my husband where I was really open to the idea, but STILL, I was in no hurry. He, on the other hand, had always wanted a family. This was hard for me initially because I adore my husband and I want to give him the world and his dreams.
But still, I felt scared.
The real hesitation behind pregnancy has been this deep fear of labor and child birth.
Have you seen someone giving birth!? 😳 I mean, WOW!! The visual alone was enough to send my uterus packing and close shop. ✋🏼 Nope! I didn’t want any part of it...and then, it happened.
I missed my period and the panic ensued 😱 and then the doctor confirmed, I was pregnant!
Holy sh*t, this is happening!
There was no turning back, in my mind, this was all part of God’s plan and all I could do was trust in His plan and walk in faith.

Now I had to battle other fears. One being, my self image. Going from fit, to watching my body morph into, what feels like someone else’s, and to watch my belly, thighs and butt grow. Not gonna lie, it’s been a challenge, but I’m choosing to embrace it, rather than to have a meltdown over it.

-It’s natural
-It’s beautiful
-It’s the creation of a new life ♥️

To be able to feel her move is an incredible (and strange) feeling, but it reminds me there is so much beauty in the world. I feel humbled daily to know that I am blessed to go through this journey, to know that I can bring a a dream come true for my husband and watch myself grow as an individual and embrace this new life and change coming our way.

All this to share and say, you are capable of so much more than you think! Even though I’m petrified of labor and birth, I know that our bodies are created for this. I’m also choosing to go all natural, no drugs, no hospital, just a team of amazing midwives!
Yesterday we went to the beach and instead of feeling self conscious about my changing body, I let it out.
A freeing feeling!
So, here I am, 29 weeks pregnant 🤰🏼! Sharing this with you all, as a reminder to not only myself, but to you, embrace the journey you are in right now. Don’t fight it, learn to grow from it, take the positives and run with them. Look at the negatives and fears as a platform to learn from, to overcome them and know you CAN do anything!!
P.S. isn’t my husband adorable? He always makes me feel better about myself and brings so much laughter and joy xo

Excited for all my new oils!

So I have to say, I have always been skeptical about the essential oils world. Why? Truthfully, because I never did the research to understand the science behind it.
Like many, I thought it was something Hippies/ granola folk did 🙈 and thought it was weird and brushed it off. (Hey, I’m being honest here!)

My husband .sten_kerwin has been using it in his practice for years and has had great results for not only himself but his patients as well. So, I thought I would be more open minded and learn more and give it a try.

I’m a big believer in being my own guinea pig and trying things before I start talking about them and recommending them to others.

I can genuinely say, I have seen notable differences in my health and mental well being since using them.

I’m still learning and experimenting and how it all works and how I can use it for so many things from:
-emotional release/relief
-physical ailments and aiding with healing
-to cleaning! Yes, cleaning!
-air diffuser, purifying the air as well as releasing amazing scents to help relax after a long day or get rid of bacteria in the air

Mindset. Mindset. Mindset.

For years I use to journal and then life took over. So did the madness and the jumble of craziness in my mind as I was no longer working on clearing my mind, expressing my emotions, struggles, celebrations... I just lived day to day trying my best to get though the chaos.

The past couple of weeks have provided real challenges in my business and my feelings towards it.

Instead of buckling under the pressure and throwing my hands up, I buckled down, pulled out my journal and began working on my mindset.

🤓What a turn around!!

🥳 Today I have so much to celebrate! By working through the funk, choosing to see frustrations as learning curves than roadblocks, persevering past the negative feelings, spending time journaling and praying in the mornings has completely shifted my mindset in a direction of forward momentum and victory!

If you are struggling right now, I encourage you to work on your mind. To be aware of your thoughts.

Are they serving you in a positive frame or are they tearing you down further?

The mind is extremely powerful and often our feelings and emotions take control and this is where we fail. If we listen to our feelings understand they are liars.

Feelings are not facts. Take time for yourself. Sit down in your discomfort and frustration and work through them. It won’t be easy, but it WILL be worth it!

With modern day living, we are confronted with more toxins than ever before.

Our quality of air, water, soil, food, everything is being compromised. It’s imperative that we do our part in making sure we take time to give our bodies the love it needs.

There is a saying about “you are what you eat.”

It’s true!

One of the most important things, if not the most important, is the ability to love yourself first, before anyone else. What do I mean?
As women, we go through a journey in life of learning about ourselves. Social media doesn’t help us in our self image, but rather steers us to think and believe we need to “look” and “act” a specific way in order to be attractive, or to be loved or to find acceptance.
Ladies, looking for validation from others will always leaving you feeling unfulfilled. Always yearning to find purpose, to feel good about yourself.
The truth is, learning to love yourself first and who you are is where it all begins.
It doesn’t matter what others think or say about you, your self worth is not found in their eyes or their opinion... but in yours.
Remember, no one feels what you feel, no one knows the emotions and thoughts of your most vulnerable moments but you... why look for validation from someone else, when they are not living in your own skin?

Fall in love with yourself first! This was a very difficult lesson for me in my 20’s and even early 30’s. But every guy let me down, friends couldn’t help give me the validation I needed.

I hated to be alone. I couldn’t stand the idea of not being “alone”, I had to be in physical presence of others, talking on the phone, texting... something, anything to feel connected because I was so uncomfortable with getting to know myself.

I could go on, but the bottom line is, learn to spend time with yourself, fall in love, learn what makes you happy, hobbies you enjoy, the things that bring you joy!

Once you learn to love yourself, you’ll be amazed what you attract in your life! A dream career, the dream man, true and loyal friends, the possibilities are endless!

Dare to be YOU! Be authentic and genuine and the world will open up!

It turns out that area is heavily populated with... drumroll please... pharmaceutical companies! I counted 18 in a pretty small radius. Here they are on the map. Always have to follow the money. The corruption is deep in this country with big pharma.
