A Special Visit from Our Local Heroes!

Yesterday was full of excitement at Building Bridges Preschool in Lonoke! Our friends from the Lonoke Fire Department stopped by for a hands-on learning experience, and they brought their fire truck along for the fun!
Our preschool students got an up-close look at the fire truck, explored firefighters' gear and tools, and asked plenty of curious questions!

But the fun didn't stop with our little learners! Participants from our Lonoke Adult Day Center joined in, making it a wonderful experience of learning, connection, and community for all ages.
A HUGE thank-you to the Lonoke Fire Department for taking the time to visit, share your knowledge, and create special memories with our Building Bridges family!

We are proud to announce that Building Bridges Developmental & Community Services has been recognized by the Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) as the Outstanding 5310 Agency for service to our community!

Our staff had the honor of accepting this award at the recent Arkansas Transit Association Conference, celebrating the dedication and hard work that goes into serving our clients every day.

At Building Bridges, transportation is more than just getting from one place to another. It's about creating access, promoting independence, and connecting individuals to opportunities within their communities.

Since 1972, Building Bridges Developmental and Community Services has worked alongside individuals, families, and community partners to expand opportunities for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities across Central Arkansas.

Through our Ready To Work program, we carry that legacy forward by helping individuals develop workplace skills, prepare for meaningful employment, and connect with opportunities to contribute their talents to our local workforce.

🎓 Life After High School… What Comes Next?

For parents of children with developmental disabilities, thinking about life after graduation can bring a lot of questions. What services are available? What about employment opportunities? Where do we even begin?

💙 You don't have to figure it all out alone!

Join us for our Life After High School Lunch & Learn, designed specifically for parents and caregivers of students who are 1–4 years away from graduation.

We'll discuss:
✅ Planning for life after graduation
✅ Adult services and available resources
✅ Employment opportunities and career supports
✅ Building on your child's unique strengths and abilities

You'll also have the opportunity to connect with other families, ask questions, and learn from representatives of Building Bridges and Arkansas Rehabilitation Services.
