Hey Camp Supporters!
We are busy this month collecting donations for our annual online silent auction that starts November 1st.
We want to thank Carvers Brewing Company for their donation of a gift certificate. They serve awesome burgers and brew! (they probably serve more than burgers, but I have never read past that section of the menu! and the fries are to die for!!) In case you need a story to make you smile.....Another ongoing fund raising project is "Cans for Camp". Once every 2-3 months Camp Director, Vicki, takes donated cans to a local salvage business for cash. Yesterday she took a load to "Belt Salvage" in Cortez, CO. The young man at the cash register didn't have the cash in the box to give us the exact amount, so he just rounded it up to the nearest $10.00. Thanks to Belt Salvage for your generosity! Every penny counts!!!

Hi Camp Supporters!
We are eternally grateful for the generous grants that we have received over the past 5 years. We don't take them for granted and every year we work hard to raise funds with our annual events (Poker Run in the spring and Online Silent Auction in the fall). But did you know that we also had two yard sales this summer? Thanks to all the folks in Cortez, Dolores, Durango, Mancos and summer visitors from Arizona and other states who came by and supported CAFC! We cleaned out a friends barn and helped someone who just turned 70 to do a major clean-out, along with raising funds for camp!
And what happened with all that didn't sell you ask? Well, we stuffed 469 lbs of soft goods into the back of Vicki's truck and loaded a 17 ft. trailer with 1065 lbs. of household goods and took them to Savers (a chain thrift store that buys from non-profits by the pound). These projects were a lot of work, but we made well over $1,000.00 for camp and helped keep goods from going to the dump.
Thanks to Adam, Candice, Leslie and Chantal for their help with these projects!
