Turns out, better sleep starts long before bedtime. 😴☕️

At last month’s Coffee Chat, we talked all things sleep: what’s actually happening while we’re sleeping, why you might be waking up at 3am, how caffeine, alcohol, light + daily rhythms can impact your rest, and why 8 hours doesn’t always equal 8 hours of restorative sleep.

But our biggest takeaway?

You don’t need a perfect nighttime routine or 12 new sleep hacks.

Pick ONE thing.
Get outside earlier.
Move your caffeine cutoff up.
Keep your wake time more consistent.
Put the phone away.
Make your room cooler + darker.

Try it for a week and pay attention to what changes.

Change one thing. Pay attention. Learn your body.

Another really fun morning of coffee, good questions + even better conversation🌊

See you at the next one!

“What’s your favorite piece of advice to give patients?”

His answer? Drink more water.

Simple? Yep. But probably something most of us could do a little better.

Water plays a role in nearly every process in your body—from circulation and digestion to temperature regulation, joint health, recovery, and energy.

Bonus points: make some of that water functional.

Add minerals or electrolytes to support hydration and replenish things like sodium, potassium, and magnesium, especially if you’re sweating, exercising, or spending a lot of time in the San Diego sun.

Before you reach for another health hack, start with the basics:

Drink the water. Add the minerals. Keep it simple. 💧

Turns out Dr. Tyler’s best advice isn’t very complicated.

Turns out we had a lot to say about getting older 😂

Coffee Chat #2 was all about what actually helps us age well—not anti-aging, not trying to outrun getting older, and definitely not adding 17 new things to your morning routine.

We talked movement, brain health, nervous system regulation, nutrition, supplements, connection, chiropractic + the everyday things that compound over time.

And somehow our one-hour Coffee Chat turned into an hour and a half. ☕️

The biggest takeaway?

The goal isn’t just more years. It’s being able to use them.

To still get on the floor. Carry the groceries. Learn new things. Travel. Play with your grandkids. Laugh with your people. Keep doing the things that make you feel like you.

Longevity isn’t something we start thinking about when we’re old.
We’re building it right now. 🌊

Thanks to everyone who came, stayed late, asked questions + made this one such a good conversation.

Coffee Chat #3 is this Saturday and we’re talking SLEEP! DM me if you’d like to join!

We just received another great review on Google:

Where Coffee Chat began. ☕️🌊

Eight people, coffee, bagels, and a conversation about something that touches almost every part of our lives: our nervous systems.

We talked about stress, regulation, the signals our bodies are constantly responding to, and the small things we can do every day to help our systems feel a little safer and more adaptable.

But our favorite part had very little to do with what we planned to teach.

It was the questions. The stories. The laughter. The moments where the conversation took on a life of its own.

That’s exactly what we hoped Coffee Chat would be.

Good coffee. Good humans. Conversations that make us think, connect, and maybe leave a little different than we came. 🤍

The first of many.

Turns out getting older is mostly realizing you were prioritizing a lot of the wrong things 😂

At 38, I care a lot less about how things look and a lot more about how they feel. A body that can handle my life. A few really good friends. Work that means something to me. Being present for the season I’m actually in instead of constantly looking toward the next one.

And, apparently, an increasing amount of peace and quiet.

28-year-old me would probably think I’ve gotten boring.

38-year-old me is pretty good with that.
