Thank you Rachel Reed for your musings on breech birth.... "It has taken more than 20 years to get back to a place where breech is increasingly considered a variation, and the knowledge of the 1900s pioneers has finally made it into textbooks and mainstream maternity education. We now have midwifery texts depicting upright breech birth and explaining breech physiology."

This week it has been announced that the Federal government is establishing a Women's Health Division at the National Institutes of Health (NIH)

This division will coordinate with NIH Office of Research on Women’s National Institute for Health and Care Excellence
You can see the executive order here: https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/2026/10/advancing-womens-health-to-improve-outcomes-in-all-phases-of-life/

This is different from the https://womenshealth.gov/ and other programs within the government as it appears to set up a Task Force to review and report on government initiatives.

I encourage you to contact any and all of these organizations to discuss how homebirth and midwifery (OF ALL KINDS!) are understudied in order to promote access for women to midwifery care they choose at every level.

By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, it is hereby ordered: Section 1. Purpose and Every child deserves a safe and nurturing home where they can learn, grow, and reach their full potential. Adoption makes that possible by opening...

Do you offer SNEAK PEEK services?

Myriad Genetics

October 20, 2026

Dear Valued Customer,

Today, Myriad Genetics announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to sell its prenatal health business to Labcorp. We are sharing this news so you understand what is changing, what remains the same, and what to expect during the transition.

Our commitment to you remains unchanged. You can continue to rely on Myriad for the high-quality genetic testing, scientific expertise, and customer support you receive today. There is no immediate change to your testing, reporting, service, or commercial support.

Under the agreement, Myriad will sell the Prequel®, Foresight®, SneakPeek®, and FirstGene® tests to Labcorp. As a global provider of innovative and comprehensive laboratory services, Labcorp has the capabilities, and commitment to support these tests – and the customers who rely on them – for the long term. When complete, the transaction is expected to provide patients and physicians with expanded access to Labcorp’s comprehensive, high-quality laboratory services, convenient patient service center network and robust data analytics and digital tools. Labcorp is well positioned to build on the strong foundation Myriad has established while continuing to serve providers and patients with quality and reliability.

Until the transaction is completed, which is estimated to occur by early 2027, Myriad’s prenatal health business will remain separate and continue to operate as usual, with no immediate changes to your testing, reporting, service, or commercial support. Myriad and Labcorp are committed to a thoughtful, coordinated transition, and our team will keep you informed of any updates that affect you while continuing to support you, your patients, and your organization.

Thank you for your continued trust in Myriad. We value our relationship and remain focused on delivering reliable service and trusted genetic insights that help you provide informed patient care.

Sincerely,

Vishal Sikri
