⭐️ STAR OF THE WEEK ⭐️

Surgery Date: May 3, 2022, starting weight: 467 pounds.

My journey has been fantastic! Being able to take my grandbabies to the zoo was such a blessing. That was one of my goals because I couldn’t even walk from the parking lot to the entrance previously.
Bloodwork: on point! The biggest thing I was scared of was hair loss. And boy did I have that! But you know what??? It doesn’t matter in the grand scheme of things! I feel amazing every single day!

239 pounds lost but I’ve been struggling lately. Excess skin, fat feelings, food noise, discouraged because I’m still over 200 pounds. I was cleaning out my closet and found a pair of jeans with the tags still on them. I had bought them probably a year or so prior to surgery. Size 28 and they were too small. I was so disgusted with myself. Not sure why I didn’t return them. But today they were just what I needed.

The best decision of my life! Next goal: 5k. Because we CAN do all the things! Thank you Dr Hargroder, Carla and Sherry!

Surgery date was 3-14-2013. 268 #. As with most I struggled with different diets over the years. Discouraging to say the least. MGB has been life changing. Diarrhea first few months and that gatorade was the worst. Since, still don’t handle much ice cream or lettuce, otherwise get along really well as long as i don’t overdue it.

Thankful to have had the surgery and losing 110 #. I am able to be out working in the garden, enjoying my flowers and most of all, enjoying my 5 grandkids. Would i do it again? Absolutely.

⭐️ STAR OF THE WEEK ⭐️

Hello MGB fam! I had my surgery 8/16/2022 at my heaviest 290lbs. I now weigh 170lbs. My first month after was a serious challenge with bowels getting stable (diarrhea) but completely worth it (also I hate Gatorade.. I froze it/ held my breath to drink it post op for 2 weeks). I have never thrown up after surgery. I eat whatever I want (salt freely my favorite). I have eaten too close to bed (a rule not to do.. what can I say I'm a rebel) 4 different times and aspirated/ acid reflux. Otherwise no problems. My labs are great and doing exactly what I wanted to prevent (diabetes/ heart disease/ dementia) as I was borderline diabetic with cholesterol/ triglycerides off the charts. As a nurse, I feel healthy for the first time since a teenager. I feel pretty. I have energy. I hike! I push my special needs sister when we go to zoo and other places for hours. I sleep 7-8 hrs instead of 9/10.
More time. More energy. More fun. No more shortness of breath on stairs/ I go up and down them quickly. More quality of life. We now run a dog sitting business and I have tons of energy to play with the dogs. My husband and I are also very happy. :) DO IT.

⭐️ STAR OF THE WEEK ⭐️

I was VERY hesitant at first about making this post. I guess you could say I was in my own head a little bit. I was worried a little too much about what others might say and their own personal opinions. I began scrolling through my pictures and saw all my progress pictures and I was so VERY PROUD of myself and how far I have come since I decided to have mini gastric bypass surgery December 18th, 2024! It has saved my life and given me back my life in SO MANY WAYS!!!

I had tried EVERYTHING it felt like to lose weight and nothing seemed to work! I was miserable and didn’t know what to do! My daily life became a struggle! I couldn’t play with my grandchildren like I wanted to! I had lost both my parents at a very young age! No, I didn’t lose them to any weight issues, but I knew if I wanted to be around as long as I could for my family and grandchildren I knew I needed to be the best version of myself I could be! So, I reached out to friends that had this same surgery and they all had great results. After many talks and research with Marcell we decided this would be the best option for me!

Dr. Hargroder performed my surgery on December 18th, 2024. The day that has changed my life forever. I will always be thankful for him. He gave me a tool to use. Some people may say that I took the “easy” way out. I will always disagree. I still have to put in the work and eat right and exercise. Mini gastric bypass does not automatically make you skinny. It is a tool that you have to use and make work for you to see results. And that is exactly what I have been doing. I have lost 84.6 pounds since December 18th. I have more to go to reach my goal weight, but I’m happy with my progress and I can’t wait to see how far I can go.

Below are my pictures I have taken along the way. Some are very embarrassing, but I’m glad I took them to see the difference from the very beginning to today.
