⭐️EMPLOYEE APPRECIATION⭐️
••Kathy••

Just shy of 3 years with I.O., Kathy has made a huge impact on us!

Before joining she was a stellar bartender, busting her butt at UPS, and then joining the Event Center staff after a long recovery due to back surgery… Lucky for us, Kathy took a suggestion to apply to I.O. and she has been with us since! Each month Kathy takes the time to find creative crafts/activities for our monthly calendar to help grow their skills and knowledge. She has a HUGE heart and a very infectious laugh that she loves to share with everyone! 🤩

When she’s not at work, you can find her gardening, floating the river or at the lake, and spending time with her daughter, mom, or dog

Thank you, Kathy, for the joy you bring into our building! ☺️

⭐️EMPLOYEE APPRECIATION⭐️
••Jennifer••

Though Jennifer has only been with us for 5 years, she brings immaculate knowledge with almost 15 years in the same field prior to joining our company!

Before starting at IO, Jennifer took a break in between to help build a painting business with her husband. However, as luck would have it- Jennifer saw our “help wanted” ad and came to join our team shortly after! Each day Jennifer helps our participants be the best version of themselves while supporting their independence. Along with sharing her wisdom with staff and participants, she brings in a great sense of humor and smile each day! 😄

When Jennifer is not at IO, she enjoys spending time working on her yard and fixer-upper house, spending time with her family, and camping in the mountains🏕️

Thank you, Jennifer, for everything you do daily for us!!!

⭐️EMPLOYEE APPRECIATION⭐️
••Kendra••
Starting only 4 months after Independent Opportunities opened, Kendra has been part of the team for 21 years!!

Prior to starting, she majored in criminal justice but chose to follow her passion and love for the DD community… (we are thankful she did!) Every day, Kendra shows up with a smile and striving to be better than the day before! Kendra’s strongest qualities include her patience, humor, positivity, and compassion for every individual 🙌🏼

When Kendra is not at IO, she enjoys spending time with her loved ones while camping, cooking, thrifting, doing puzzles, and travel-baseball.

Thank you, Kendra, for everything you bring to our team!!! 💚🤍🖤

Douglas Railroad Museum 🚂
Not only did we get to learn the history of the trains, but we enjoyed getting to walk through them and get a real feeling of what it was like to ride on the trains!
