Here is what most egg-freezing consultations are not telling you.

The chance of any single frozen egg resulting in a live birth is approximately 5 to 7% per thawed egg across all age groups. To achieve a 50 to 80% cumulative live birth rate, you would need to freeze at least 10 to 15 eggs. A single egg-freezing cycle costs $10,000 to $15,000. Most women need multiple cycles to reach that number. And only about 16% of women who freeze their eggs ever return to use them.

AMH creates urgency. Urgency drives egg freezing. And a low AMH result alone is not a clinical indication to freeze your eggs.

New episode of Cycle Wisdom is out now! Dr. Minjeur covers what an egg freezing conversation should look like. Link in bio.

A low AMH result doesn't automatically mean you're running out of time to have a baby!

AMH (anti-Müllerian hormone) is often marketed as a fertility test, but what does it actually tell us about your ability to conceive?

And should a low result automatically send you straight to an egg-freezing consultation?

In this week's episode of Cycle Wisdom, Dr. Monica Minjeur breaks down:

→ What AMH actually measures—and what it doesn't predict about your fertility

→ Why low AMH doesn't necessarily mean you can't conceive naturally

→ What the research actually says about egg-freezing success rates

→ What a comprehensive ovarian reserve evaluation should include

You'll also hear Isabelle's story. At just 29 years old, an at-home AMH test left her convinced she was running out of time to have children. But a more complete evaluation gave her a very different perspective.

Your fertility deserves to be evaluated with more than a single lab result. 💛

IVF can help overcome certain barriers to fertilization. But what happens when the problem is the DNA inside the s***m? 🧬

S***m DNA fragmentation refers to damage or breaks in the DNA carried by s***m. Higher levels have been associated with:

→ Reduced fertilization rates
→ Poor embryo quality
→ Increased miscarriage risk
→ Recurrent implantation failure

Even with ICSI, where a single s***m is injected directly into an egg, damaged DNA can still be present. Bypassing barriers to fertilization doesn’t necessarily address the underlying DNA damage.

And here’s what makes this important: s***m DNA fragmentation can sometimes be improved!

Factors like infection, varicocele, insulin resistance, oxidative stress, and poor sleep can all contribute to DNA damage.

Identifying and addressing these factors before fertility treatment may help improve s***m DNA integrity and reproductive outcomes.

This is why we believe male fertility deserves a more comprehensive evaluation—not just a standard semen analysis.

💛 If you’re considering IVF, have experienced pregnancy loss, or have been told your partner’s semen analysis is normal, there may be more worth investigating.

What if the answers you’ve been searching for are in tests that haven’t been done yet?

Fiona and David’s story is a reminder of why we believe in looking deeper, asking more questions, and evaluating both partners when it comes to fertility. 💛

Standard testing measures count, motility, and morphology. It does not measure the integrity of the DNA inside those s***m — and DNA fragmentation above 25 to 30% is associated with poor embryo quality, recurrent implantation failure, and increased miscarriage risk even when everything else looks completely normal.

The most common drivers — infection, varicocele, insulin resistance, oxidative stress, poor sleep, heat exposure — are all modifiable. And because s***m take approximately 90 days to fully regenerate, targeted intervention can produce meaningful improvement within three months.

New episode of Cycle Wisdom is out now. Dr. Minjeur, DO breaks it all down. Link in bio!

Normal s***m count. Normal motility. Normal morphology. And still no pregnancy.
What if there’s something a standard semen analysis isn’t measuring? 👀

A standard semen analysis looks at the number, movement, and shape of s***m. But it doesn’t evaluate the quality of the DNA inside those s***m.
That’s where s***m DNA fragmentation comes in.
In this week’s episode of Cycle Wisdom, Dr. Monica Minjeur explains:
→ What s***m DNA fragmentation is and why it matters for fertility and pregnancy loss
→ Why a normal semen analysis doesn’t necessarily rule out male-factor infertility
→ How factors like infection, varicocele, insulin resistance, oxidative stress, and poor sleep can affect s***m DNA integrity
→ Why IVF and ICSI don’t necessarily address the underlying problem

You’ll also hear Fiona and David’s story. After two early miscarriages and multiple normal semen analyses, a more comprehensive male-factor evaluation revealed something that had never been tested for.

Male fertility is about more than s***m count. And when pregnancy isn’t happening—or losses keep occurring—both partners deserve a thorough evaluation. 💛
