A beautiful time together in Costa Rica 🇨🇷

My heart is so full after our 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training in Costa Rica. 🌿

Together, we explored the 8 Limbs of Yoga, built a beautiful community, connected deeply with nature, and witnessed so much personal growth. This experience was about so much more than learning to teach—it was about remembering how to live yoga.

I’m deeply grateful for everyone who shared this journey. What we created together will stay with me forever.

As I continue leading my 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training, I’m reminded that yoga isn’t just something I teach—it’s something I strive to embody every day.

One of my favorite gestures is placing my right hand open near my heart and my left hand gently cupped below.

To me, this simple posture represents the kind of teacher I hope to be.

My open hand at my heart reminds me to teach with compassion, authenticity, and generosity. I don’t want to teach from ego or the belief that I have all the answers. I want to teach from lived experience, with the intention to serve.

My cupped hand reminds me that I am still a student. No matter how many trainings I lead or how many years I practice, I want to remain open to receiving wisdom—from my teachers, my students, and life itself.

The Bhagavad Gita continually brings me back to this truth. Krishna reminds Arjuna to offer his actions wholeheartedly, without attachment to the outcome. This teaching is a big reminder.

My role isn’t to seek recognition or to have all the answers. It is to show up, share what has been entrusted to me, and trust that the rest will unfold as it’s meant to.

Every retreat & training humbles me. My students remind me that teaching isn’t about standing in front of the room—it’s about walking beside others while continuing to do my own inner work.

I hope I always have one hand open to give from my heart and the other open to receive with humility.

12 years ago today, I gave up one thing, for everything 🙏

I had to get on my knees and ask Jesus for help. I had to fully surrender.

I wanted to do it for my kids Noah Gloede Austin Gloede , for my marriage but ultimately it had to be for myself.

Today, my life is magical! 💫
I’m healthy (mind, body & spirit) and I wouldn’t change a thing.
My relationship with my boys 💙💙is better than I could ask for. My support system is strong and I am eternally grateful.

Is my life perfect, absolutely not.
BUT, it’s a 1000 times better than when I was drinking.

Thank you to my brother Jeremy Ackley for giving me my chip today. I’m so grateful for our friendship and relationship. I love you so much and I’m so proud of you.

To everyone that reached out today and continues to cheer for me, thank you. I tried to do this life alone and it didn’t work. It was miserable.

Thank you to AA, my yoga community, my therapist x 2 🤪😬😁, my friends Michelle Waldron & Michelle Murray that literally saved me this last year & my family.

To those still struggling with addiction, know that recovery is possible.

I don’t know what my future will bring, but for today, I’m choosing not to drink.
