Yep!!!! Once I told a nurse - she just hit transition and saying “I can’t do this (even 5th baby). She ignored us both. Nurse Didn’t check her.Maybe 2 min later - I GOTTA P**P!!!
I tell the husband to hit the button, mamma no pushing for just a sec I’m going for nurses. I step out, I can see the nurses station so I yelled - SHES GOTTA P**P! On call came. Had a baby about 10 - 15 min later, at most.

✨ SEARCHING FOR A POTENTIAL BACKUP DOULA ✨
Norman / Texoma / OKC area

Hey y’all! I’m Rae, The Inked Doula, and I’m looking for a student doula who needs one of her first three births for a legitimate training or certification program.

I’m 45, I’ve been doing this for 7 years, and I hold 5 Birthy certifications. My children are young adults, so I don’t have littles to chase around or pregnant myself. They I bring experience, perspective, and the kind of hard-earned wisdom that comes from supporting many different families and births. I’m unconventional in some ways—but that usually turns out to be a very good thing. 😉

My original backup had to back out, so I’m looking for someone dependable for an upcoming birth at Norman Regional Hospital. This would be unpaid and for experience only. You would be on call as a labor-and-birth backup and may never be needed.

This is LABOR & BIRTH BACKUP ONLY. You would not take over prenatal care, postpartum support, or my client relationship. My clients specifically do not want that. They chose me, and I intend to remain their doula. We simply want an additional support person available in case my health issues flare up and I’m physically unable to attend or provide hands-on support.

My goal is still to be there, even if my role needs to be more focused on holding space and offering support from a less physical position. Mom, Dad, and both grandmothers are ready to help, too!

Mama is currently 36+3, so we’re getting close.

Before the birth, we would Zoom so everyone can meet and make sure it feels comfortable. My clients have asked me to interview and select the backup, and I take that responsibility seriously.

You must be currently enrolled in a legitimate doula training or certification program, and I’ll need proof of enrollment. This is not a criticism of uncertified doulas; my clients have simply made legitimate training and certification important to them, and I’m honoring that preference.

If you’re within about 30 minutes to an hour of Norman and willing to drive, please message me. 🖤
