Thrilled to share that I just received my DEA timely applicant email—a milestone not many Michigan cannabis operators have reached on their own. I didn’t consult an attorney; I simply studied every headline to stay informed, spoke to OMB during public comment, applied to speak for the DEA hearings and took initiative handling the application solo, and am now with optimism, anticipating inspections as reform unfolds.

It feels rewarding to be proactive and protect my businesses for the long haul. In cannabis, being ahead on compliance can make all the difference when it matters most.

The words full-spectrum, broad-spectrum and isolate are often used on cannabinoid labels, but consumers may not realize what they are intended to communicate.

In general, a full-spectrum preparation is intended to retain multiple cannabis constituents, potentially including cannabinoids, terpenes and trace amounts of THC depending on the product and applicable law.

Broad-spectrum products are generally formulated to contain multiple cannabinoids and other constituents while excluding or minimizing THC.

An isolate is a purified single cannabinoid, such as C*D isolate.

The exact meaning can vary by product and jurisdiction, so the certificate of analysis is more informative than the marketing term alone.

There is ongoing research into whether combinations of cannabinoids and terpenes produce different effects than isolated compounds.

But there is not enough evidence to say that one spectrum is universally better for every person or every purpose.

Instead, think about the product goal.

Some consumers prefer a broader chemical profile.

Others may specifically want a
single compound.

Some need to avoid THC altogether.

Understanding the difference allows consumers to ask better questions and choose products based on their own needs, sensitivities and circumstances.

🎯 **Attention Michigan small business owners, cannabis supporters, and concerned voters:** As hunting season kicks off, remember—election season is also here, and your vote is the real game-changer.

This year, legislators cast their ballots **IN FAVOR of a 24% tax increase on ma*****na.** But your voice matters: at my Central Lake dispensary, we secured a crucial victory on a ballot initiative I wrote—and it all came down to **just one vote**. That decisive vote protected our livelihood and our town.

Don’t let officials who disregard your business interests stay in power. **It’s your turn to decide who stays and who goes—at the polls.**

Call your legislators and have them vote out Brian Hannah, the director of the CRA for allowing illicit sales to consumers, for allowing cartels to operate with licenses, for allowing excessive grow permits when the voters voted to CAP @ 5 grow licenses, and for allowing product grown and made in Michigan to go across state lines and feeding other state licensed businesses.

One of the best habits a cannabis consumer can develop is learning to read a Certificate of Analysis, or COA.

A COA is a laboratory report that can provide information about the tested batch. Depending on the laboratory and product, it may include cannabinoid concentrations, terpene results, microbial testing, heavy metals, pesticides, residual solvents
and other quality-control measurements.

Why does that matter?

Because the label tells you what the manufacturer intends to sell you. A batch-specific laboratory report can help show what was actually measured in that batch.

When reviewing a COA, look for:
• The product and batch identification.
• The laboratory name and testing date.
Cannabinoid results.
• Any available terpene profile.
• Safety testing appropriate to the product.
• Clear units and detection
limits.
• Results that correspond to the actual batch you purchased.

A COA is not a guarantee that a product will work for everyone. It is one piece of information that helps consumers evaluate identity, potency and quality.

This is a community-support gift—not a claim that THCA or cannabis cures cancer.

The National Cancer Institute notes that cannabis and cannabinoids have been studied for symptoms associated with cancer and cancer treatment, including pain, nausea, appetite and sleep.

However, FDA has not approved cannabis or
cannabinoids as a cancer treatment, and the evidence we've seen during the past 8 years has proven it's worth it to keep giving so we can keep collecting life changing testimonies.

If you or someone you love is fighting cancer and would like to receive our free oil, please contact Torch Cannabis Co.

We encourage recipients to share the product information with their oncology team or pharmacist before using it.

Our goal is simple: offer support, respect the individual, and encourage informed conversations with healthcare
professionals.

No purchase is necessary for the support gift.

You may have heard the phrase “entourage effect.” It describes the idea that multiple cannabis constituents may work together and that the whole chemical profile of a preparation can matter.

Cannabis contains cannabinoids, terpenes, flavonoids and other compounds. Researchers have proposed several ways these constituents could interact, including effects on receptor signaling, metabolism and subjective experience.

There is research supporting interactions among some cannabis constituents, but the strength of evidence varies widely. A 2024 systematic review concluded that the concept has biological plausibility while also emphasizing that clinical evidence
remains incomplete.

That nuance matters. It would be misleading to tell consumers that every full-spectrum product automatically works better
than an isolate, or that one terpene profile will produce the same result for everyone.
Instead, think of the plant as a chemical orchestra.

The cannabinoid profile is one section. Terpenes are another. Dose,
route, formulation and individual response are additional variables.

For consumers, the best approach is to learn the profile of the actual product you are using and pay attention to how your own body responds.

A certificate of analysis can be a valuable starting point.
