Your symptoms are worth looking into, not just quieting down.

Fatigue, brain fog, tingling hands and muscle cramps can all have a nutrient piece to them. Medication has its place, but it can’t replace a nutrient your body is missing.

There’s no reason to guess when testing is available!

My friend guessed he had about half a cup of sugar over the weekend. The real number? 2⅛ cups. 😳

That’s 103 teaspoons of added sugar, from drinks and dessert alone, not even counting his meals. The American Heart Association recommends no more than 9 teaspoons a day for men, so that’s 11+ days’ worth in one weekend.

Sugary drinks are the sneakiest source of hidden sugar. Soda, energy drinks, and sweet tea add up fast, and most of us have no idea how much we’re actually having.

The easiest place to start? Track the sugar in your drinks and make a few simple swaps. Swapping just half of his would have cut out a whole cup of sugar.

What would you have guessed? 👇

CLIENT WIN 👏

After a few weeks of consistently implementing her personalized nutrition and lifestyle protocol, this client reported:

✨ Her first period after going 90–120 days between cycles
✨ Feeling better overall
✨ Five pounds down
✨ Encouraging progress with her insulin-resistance goals

Messages like this are why I love what I do. When the body has what it needs, it can do amazing things!

IMPORTANT CLARIFICATION: I did NOT advise, encourage, or pressure this client to discontinue her medication. That was a decision made 100% independently. Medication changes should always be discussed with the prescribing healthcare provider and are outside the scope of my nutrition recommendations.

Soup season has officially arrived. 😍

This creamy beef and potato soup is hearty, simple, and made with real, nourishing ingredients. Ground beef provides plenty of protein, while potatoes, spinach, and bone broth turn it into the perfect cozy, one pot meal.

Top each bowl with freshly grated cheese and enjoy!

Save this recipe for the next chilly evening and let me know if you make it! 🤎

Vitamin D deficiency isn’t just a lab flag, it’s often the missing piece behind “I feel off and I don’t know why.”

Here’s the thing most people don’t know: the standard reference range was built to prevent rickets, the disease that shows up when vitamin D gets critically, dangerously low. It was never designed to define what your body needs to actually thrive. “Not rickets” and “optimal” are two very different bars.

What low-but-not-rickets vitamin D actually looks like: fatigue sleep doesn’t fix, low mood or seasonal flatness, achy joints, catching every cold, brain fog, thinning hair. Easy to blame on stress, but this is the textbook picture, especially as we move into fall and winter.

Labs call you sufficient above 30 ng/mL. Research on mood, immunity, and recovery tells a different story, people tend to feel and function best at 40–60 ng/mL. That’s the number I actually work toward with clients.

Why does one nutrient move the needle this much? Vitamin D behaves like a hormone once your body converts it, with receptors in the brain, thyroid, and reproductive tissue, not just bone. In one study, people with severe depressive symptoms had vitamin D levels roughly half that of people with none. And those with Hashimoto’s thyroiditis are up to twice as likely to be deficient as the general population.

If you’re struggling with low mood, energy, hormonal issues - get your vitamin D levels checked. 😊

I received this text from a client last night, and it made me smile!

She had been struggling with chronic urinary tract infections, sometimes multiple per month, for more than six months straight. As a result, she had been on numerous rounds of antibiotics.

After discussing the details surrounding her recurrent UTIs, I created a personalized protocol that included supportive herbs, such as marshmallow root, along with targeted support to help rebuild her gut microbiome after repeated antibiotic use.

Now she has gone two full months without a UTI! 👏🏼

If you didn’t know that nutrition and natural approaches can help support urinary tract health, send me a message. I’ve had success helping both clients and family members who have struggled with recurrent UTIs.

Starting a little series on micronutrients 🌿

The Macronutrients - protein, carbohydrates, and fat - tend to get all the attention. While micronutrients may be needed in smaller amounts, their jobs are anything but small. Electrolytes help regulate your heartbeat and nerve signals, iron delivers oxygen to your tissues, and vitamin B12 supports healthy blood cells, nerves, and the metabolic pathways your cells use to produce energy, to name a few.

When we’re not getting enough of these essential vitamins and minerals, deficiencies can drastically affect our health long before we recognize what’s happening. One of the issues with heavily processed foods is that they are lacking in micronutrients. That’s why I want to break down what each micronutrient does, where to find it, and why understanding your nutrient status can be so valuable.

First up: Vitamin A 🥕

Vitamin A is fat-soluble, which means dietary fat helps your body absorb and use it. So whether you’re eating carrots, spinach, or another source of provitamin A carotenoids, pair it with olive oil, butter, avocado, or another healthy fat.

So, what does the body actually use vitamin A for and how does it work? Plant foods provide provitamin A carotenoids, such as beta-carotene, which must first be converted into vitamin A before the body can use them. Animal foods provide preformed retinol, which is already vitamin A and does not require that initial conversion. The body can then convert retinol into retinal, which helps form the light sensitive pigments needed for vision, or into retinoic acid, which regulates gene expression involved in cell growth, specialization, immune function, and tissue maintenance.

This is particularly important for maintaining the epithelial barriers lining the skin, eyes, respiratory tract, and digestive tract, which act as a first line of immune defense. Vitamin A also helps immune cells develop and function appropriately and is essential for normal fetal growth and organ development.

America is in a chronic health crisis, and it's getting worse, not better.

Before you write off diet and lifestyle changes as "too hard" or "not worth it," consider what's actually at stake.

Since 2014, the stat has been the same: 6 in 10 adults live with 1 chronic disease, and 4 in 10 live with 2 or more. That number comes from a RAND Corporation report (Buttorff et al., 2017) using 2014 health data, and it's been repeated for over a decade.

New research says it's worse. A 2025 CDC study (Watson et al., Preventing Chronic Disease*, using 2023 national survey data) found that 3 in 4 adults now have at least 1 chronic condition, and over half have 2 or more. The study tracked 12 conditions: arthritis, asthma, cancer, chronic kidney disease, COPD, depression, diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, obesity, and stroke.

Whether you're trying to prevent disease or already managing one, nutrition and lifestyle are the biggest levers you have for your long-term health and quality of life.

Because why wouldn’t I fit 4,000 mg of omega 3’s, 66 grams of protein and plenty of fiber into this innocent looking pasta dish?!

Are they tired of me? Probably. 😂
Am I going to stop? Absolutely not.
