Hello, Wellness Warriors! Itâs Wellness Wednesday!
I watched a beautiful conversation earlier today featuring Mia MaugĂŠâs conversation on Second Act with Ateh Jewel, sponsored by LâOrĂŠal Paris. where she talked about aging, beauty, and embracing this season of life. And I want to thank her for continuing to elevate a conversation that so many women need to hear.
But something she said about postmenopause really stayed with me.
We hear more and more about perimenopause and menopause, which is wonderful and long overdue.
But what about the woman on the other side of menopause?
What happens to her story?
And hereâs another question: Why are we still measuring the beauty of aging by how closely we resemble our younger selves?
Think about that.
Weâre constantly told that 50 is the new 30, or 60 is the new 40.
But what if 60 could simply be 60? Beautifully, unapologetically, and fully?
Now, donât misunderstand me. Aging comes with changes. Some we welcome, and others we have to navigate. And postmenopause deserves serious conversations about our physical, emotional, and sexual health.
But I also believe we need to talk about possibility.
The freedom to redefine ourselves. The confidence that comes from lived experience. The wisdom to know what matters and what no longer deserves our energy.
And yes, the gratitude of still being here, still growing, still becoming.
Because gratitude doesnât mean we have to love every change. It means we recognize the privilege of having another chapter to write.
So hereâs my question for you today:
What if we stopped judging other women for resembling their younger selves but for how well theyâre living?
Because menopause is a transition, not an expiration date.
And ladies, there is still so much life on the other side.
Remember, Wellness is the New Black!
