I am incredibly excited to join the team at Ivy Integrative. We just-moved to our new location
in the Ballantyne area of Charlotte, NC. Ivy may be new to the community, but they are not
new to Charlotte. They are a well-established community of practitioners, working together to
offer multiple options to help you to pursue your health goals.
The space is incredible! Clean, calming, warm and inviting. They offer a variety of integrative
services, including:
NeoLight therapy, Bowen therapy, Counseling, EMDR, Herbal medicine, Myofascial release,
Naturopathic medicine, Nutritional therapy, OT & PT, Pelvic floor therapy, and (of course)
Acupuncture!
I’ll be available for new and follow-up private acupuncture treatments on Mondays 3-6pm.
Speaking of Community –
We’re excited to kick off our new Community Acupuncture services in the
Wellness Lounge, starting Tuesdays 3-6pm.
So, what is community Acupuncture?
Community Acupuncture is a full acupuncture treatment that takes place in the same room as
up to 3 other patients.
The primary differences are:
Shared setting
No need to dress or undress
Some conditions might require much more intake and assessment, so may not be
appropriate for community acupuncture (at first). Examples of things we can treat in a
community acupuncture setting: Acute symptoms and conditions, muscle and joint
pain, stress and relaxation, etc. If in doubt, call or email us and I’ll be happy to point you
in the right direction.
Is it a lesser version of Acupuncture?
Not at all! In my 20+ years of experience, I’ve had great success for over 7 years in exactly the
same setting, working with cancer patients.
Is it as effective as Acupuncture in a more private setting?
Yes! If you have back pain, for example, we don’t need to access where you hurt in order to
effectively treat you.
Lastly, some people like more privacy. Others love the energy of being in a room with other
people. Doing yoga, Taichi or meditating feels different when you’re in a community setting.
You can actually feel the “energy” of the other people sharing the experience.
