There’s a particular kind of wound that comes from the choices our fathers make. And sometimes, it takes years to realize just how deeply those choices have impacted our sense of self-worth.

My father struggled with infidelity, sexual addiction and ultimately su***de. While I understand these were his struggles, I’ve come to recognize how much they shaped the way I saw myself.

I internalized his choices as a reflection of my own value. I felt unchosen, unimportant and unworthy of the love, attention and commitment I needed.

Why wasn’t I enough? Why wasn’t I worth choosing? Why couldn’t he stay?

Even as an adult, knowing his choices had nothing to do with my worth doesn’t mean I’ve fully healed those beliefs.

They show up in my relationships, in my need for validation, in my fears of abandonment and in the parts of me that still question whether I’m truly worthy of being loved and chosen.

This is the complicated part of healing: knowing something intellectually doesn’t mean you’ve healed it emotionally.

I can understand my father’s pain, have compassion for his struggles and recognize that his choices were his own, while still acknowledging the ways they wounded me.

The deeper work is learning to separate my worth from his choices.

His inability to show up, be faithful, manage his struggles or stay was never a reflection of my lovability.

I was always worthy of being chosen. I was always worthy of love. I never needed to earn either.

But knowing that and truly feeling it are two very different things.

This is the work I’m doing now. Uncovering the beliefs I’ve carried for so long, recognizing where I’ve made someone else’s choices mean something about me and reclaiming the parts of myself that learned to feel unworthy.

I can love my father, grieve what I didn’t receive and still choose to stop carrying the weight of his choices.

Maybe that’s what healing looks like: finally giving myself the love, value and worth I’ve spent so much of my life looking for outside of myself.

So I know it's not exactly the trend anymore to post long stories with a single photo, but this is what I have the energy for right now, so this is what's getting posted. 😂

September has put me through the wringer.

I've had what I can only describe as an interpersonal reckoning with the universe, with continuous tests of my ability to value myself and hold my worth as sacred.

I've been forced to look at all the ways I've allowed my energy, time, and resources to be siphoned without a truly reciprocal exchange.

These tests have shown up in both my business and personal life, requiring me to stand up for myself, set firm boundaries, and actually stick to them.

It's been uncomfortable, frustrating, and simultaneously liberating as hell.

I've wanted to crawl into a hole and never come back out. I've also wanted to climb to the top of a mountain and scream, "I GET IT, UNIVERSE! MESSAGE RECEIVED! NO MORE TESTS, PLEASE!"

I know this is preparing me for the very things I've been asking for. Bigger stages, holding space for larger groups, and being seen in ways I can only imagine. But that doesn't make the process any less scary.

I've cried, wailed, disconnected, and stared at the wall wondering what comes next. And through it all, I've continued to show up, do my work, and hold space for others, while watching my clients navigate remarkably similar experiences.

I suspect many of us are being asked to reclaim our energy, honor our worth, and stop abandoning ourselves in the name of keeping the peace.

Maybe this is what growth really looks like. Not just manifesting bigger things, but becoming the version of ourselves who can hold them without losing ourselves in the process.

I'm still in the thick of it, without a beautifully packaged lesson or a neat little bow. Just doing my best to navigate the messy middle.

If you're going through something similar, I see you, my friend. Keep choosing yourself. Keep honoring your boundaries and trusting your process.

We'll get to the other side of this. And hopefully, we'll understand why we had to learn these lessons along the way.

A few things you might not know about me…

I’m deeply spiritual, but I’ve never wanted spirituality that asks me to abandon common sense.

I love the woo. The energy. The mystery. The things we can’t always explain.

But I also want to know how the hell we’re supposed to actually LIVE it.

I’m not interested in being perfectly healed.

I still get angry.
I still grieve.
I still change my mind.
I still outgrow things I once thought I wanted.

And honestly, I think that’s part of the work.

I care much more about helping someone trust themselves than becoming the person they need to have all the answers.

A lot of my own journey has been about questioning the stories I inherited about who I was supposed to be, what I was supposed to want, how much I was supposed to carry, and what it means to be a “good” woman.

And maybe the biggest thing I’ve learned is this:

You don’t have to become a completely different person to create a different life.

Sometimes you just have to get quiet enough to hear what you actually want.

That’s the work I’m interested in.

The mystical, but practical.

The deep healing, but also the messy human stuff.

The kind of spirituality that helps you come home to yourself.

That’s really what I’m building here. 🤍
