Our Employee Spotlight this week is Vonnie Stone! She is one of our RN Case Managers who is new to us but not new to nursing or hospice✨


💚 How long have you been working in your role in total and how long have you been with Amedisys?

I have been working in my role as a Registered Nurse (RN) for a total of 31 years.
I have been with Amedisys a whopping 97 days lol

🤍 What meaningful moment with a patient or family can you share with us?

A meaningful moment with a patient or patient's family member I would love to share is when I received the most beautiful text from my patient's family member after my patient passed away ("Vonnie, I wanted to thank you for everything you did for Robin you were a fantastic Nurse. Thank you. Thank you. I do appreciate everything you did for both of us you’re a fantastic nurse and person")

💚 What keeps you showing up every day with such love and devotion to our patients?

I keep showing up everyday because I am a firm believer in fulfilling God's plan for my life, which is that I am here to serve. My Beautiful mother, Etta McAfee, passed away November 11, 2025. The pain I felt was definitely eased by the Hospice team that took care of her in her last days of life. My desire is to care for others and their family members during the end of life as it was done for me and my mom.

🤍 What's a fun fact about you most people don't know?

A fun fact about me most people don't know is that one of my first jobs as a teenager was as a Tour Guide at Ruby Falls.

💚 How do you enjoy spending your days off?

I enjoy spending time with my friends, my biological family, my church family, and performing community service with multiple community service organizations throughout our local community.

🤍 What do you wish more people understood about your role?

I wish more people understood that it truly takes a special hearted person, who has a heart full of compassion, patience, and love to work in the field of Hospice.

💚What's one thing you love about working at Amedisys Chattanooga?

The one thing that I love about working at Amedisys is how the mission and vision of Amedisys is patient and family centered. Hospice care is truly a gift that provides comfort, dignity, support and quality time for patients and their families at the end of life. I feel truly honored and truly blessed to be apart of the Amedisys mission.

Our Q&A with our awesome BOM Amanda Morrison✨

💚 How long have you been working in your role in total and how long have you been with Amedisys?

I’ve been working in my current role as the BOM since early February and I’ve been with amedisys for 3 years.

🤍 What meaningful moment with a patient or family can you share with us?

Being able to be with a patient from the beginning to the end of their hospice journey and still keeping in contact with the family after the patient has passed.

💚 What keeps you showing up every day with such love and devotion to our patients?

During my career as a CNA for 17 years, and having had a loved one on hospice before, being able to give back by showing love, compassion, and kindness during the most trying time of patient’s and family’s lives is very rewarding to the soul. Being able to take as much stress off of their loved ones is a feeling like no other.

🤍 What's a fun fact about you most people don't know?

I enjoy going to the shooting range with my family!

💚 How do you enjoy spending your days off?

When I’m not at a something to do with Cheer then I absolutely love to spend time with my 5 month old granddaughter Montana “Tana” ❤️

🤍 What do you wish more people understood about your role?

My role is more than just a desk job where I have to sit all day. It’s a job that looks different every day and gets me out of my chair more than people think!

💚What's one thing you love about working at Amedisys Chattanooga?

I love working at Amedisys because of the relationships I’ve built with people who ultimately have became family ❤️

💚 How long have you been working in your role in total and how long have you been with Amedisys?

I’ve been with Amedisys for 1 year and 6 months. I started off as an RN Case Manager on my journey with Amedisys and then promoted to Clinical Manager 10 months ago.

🤍 What keeps you showing up every day with such love and devotion to our patients?

Being able to provide the gift of hospice and ensure all patients and families have the support they need.

💚 What's a fun fact about you most people don't know?

Everyone knows I have two dogs, but they’re always surprised when I tell them I also have a parakeet!

🤍 How do you enjoy spending your days off?

I enjoy my days off with family, either taking a walk or just kicking back and watching a movie. I also enjoy taking day trips to try new food places with my sisters.

💚 What's one thing you love about working at Amedisys Chattanooga?

I’ve been blessed to work alongside an amazing team!!
