One of the reasons that I’m so passionate about supporting women in pregnancy to manage nausea, vomiting and Hyperemesis is because….

I’ve been there!

And I’ve done everything to try to find the root cause… mineral testing, labs, gut health testing, cell salts, labs, assessed deficiencies, etc.

I had Hyperemesis with my first and thankfully was able to manage it because of these remedies and root cause support that I had studied and applied.

One of the remedies that makes the BIGGEST difference and permanently lives in my purse when I’m pregnant is…

Tabacum 6c!

Sandy Nannen | Your Homeopathic Mom insisted that I try taking this as part of an HG protocol and it works like a charm! She’s a brilliant homeopath (if you haven’t followed her work before!).

Real talk: when you’re in the thick of first trimester nausea, “eat a balanced plate” can feel impossible. 🥴

I’ve been there. Some days the goal is just getting something down that won’t come right back up. So here’s what I’d actually reach for, not a perfect meal plan, but real food that works when you feel awful:

🥜 Trail mix: Keep it in your purse, car, and nightstand. Nuts bring fat and protein to steady your blood sugar, and low blood sugar is a big nausea trigger.

🍣 Sushi: That craving often comes from your body asking for omegas. Source well, and choose cooked rolls if raw doesn’t feel right for you. This is a personal decision to talk through with your provider.

🍳 Egg fried rice: My forever comfort meal. Eggs are a pregnancy nutrient powerhouse (hello choline!), and rice is gentle on an unsettled stomach.

🍝 Spaghetti + meatballs: Carbs plus fat and protein is a combo that calms my nausea every time. And yes, takeout counts. Survival mode is real. 😉

Here’s what I want you to hear: nourishing yourself in the first trimester isn’t about perfection. It’s about small, frequent, blood-sugar-friendly bites that keep you going until you feel like yourself again.

If you want more support, my First Trimester Pregnancy Roadmap walks you through exactly how to eat (and what to prioritize) when nausea is running the show.

And look, DIM has its place. But if your body isn’t actually clearing estrogen, shifting it into a different form only gets you so far.

The bloating, the heavy periods, the PMS mood swings, the stubborn weight… so often this is a clearance issue, not a production issue. Your gut and liver have to be able to move estrogen out…. otherwise it gets recycled right back into circulation.

That’s why I love starting with food:
🥕 A daily raw carrot salad (Ray Peat’s classic) for fiber that supports gut clearance
🥔 Cooked + cooled potatoes and rice for resistant starch that feeds a healthy microbiome

Simple, inexpensive, and something you can start this week.

But if you want to know what’s really driving your estrogen picture, especially copper and zinc imbalances, which are hugely overlooked, that’s where HTMA comes in.

Homeopathy was one of the gentlest, most supportive tools in my own postpartum recovery, and it’s something I share with so many of my clients:

🌿 Arnica for the physical recovery: soreness, bruising, and tissue healing after any kind of birth.

🌿 Sepia for the version of you that feels flat, touched-out, and running on empty. This is the one I wish someone had told me about.

🌿 Phytolacca for breastfeeding mamas dealing with engorgement, clogged ducts, or those first tender signs that something’s brewing.

But here’s what I want you to know: remedies support the healing, and minerals rebuild the foundation. Pregnancy and birth draw deeply from your mineral stores, and that depletion often shows up as exhaustion, low mood, hair loss, and feeling “not like yourself” months later.

That’s exactly why I created the HTMA Motherhood Bundle. We test, we look at your unique mineral picture, and we build a postpartum nutrition plan around what your body actually needs, no guessing.

When I run HTMAs on women trying to conceive, I see the same pattern again and again: low sodium and potassium, depleted magnesium, low bioavailable copper. And these women are usually doing everything right.

They’re eating clean, cutting carbs, skipping salt, staying busy, and running on empty without realizing it.

During pregnancy, your baby gets what they need first, even if it means pulling from your reserves. That’s why preconception is the time to build those reserves up, not wait until you’re exhausted, nauseous, and wondering why sleep isn’t fixing it.

Eating enough isn’t about more calories. It’s about protein for steady blood sugar, carbs to calm stress hormones, and mineral-rich foods that actually prepare your body to grow a baby.

That’s exactly what we do inside Reclaim Your Fertility, my 8-week group coaching program. We focus on mineral repletion, blood sugar stability, and hormone support, and your HTMA test is included so we’re working from your real data, not guesswork.

✨ We kick off this Monday, 10/5, and there are only a few spots left.

After two postpartum seasons filled with anxiety, this mama came to me at 34 weeks with one goal: this time had to feel different.

So we got to work ➡️Over the last 5 weeks of her pregnancy, I built her a postpartum blueprint centered on one non-negotiable: start every day with a real breakfast and eat ENOUGH. We also addressed her mineral load / deficiencies via an HTMA (mineral testing).

Six weeks in, she sent me photos of her plates and a message that said it all. Her body and brain finally had the fuel they needed, and she felt like herself again.

Blood sugar swings, skipped meals, and running on empty can pile onto the overwhelm so many new moms feel. Food isn’t the whole picture, but it’s a foundation that’s too often overlooked.

Want to set yourself up the same way? Comment NOURISHMENT and I’ll send you my NEW Ancestral Eating Guide for Motherhood!
