Leading up to CelebRAEtion: The Roast of Rae Bond, we’ll be introducing you to our hosts and roasters. Next up is Dr. Mark Brzezienski!

Dr. Brzezienski has spent his career putting people back together, whether through plastic and reconstructive surgery, hand surgery or his work training the next generation of physicians. As chairman and professor of Plastic Surgery at the UTHSC College of Medicine in Chattanooga, he’s helped shape both the future of medicine and the physicians who will carry it forward.

But his talents extend well beyond the operating room. A past president of the Chattanooga-Hamilton County Medical Society and the Medical Foundation of Chattanooga, Dr. Brzezienski has been a longtime leader and advocate for our medical community. He also helped develop and sustain the Youth Leadership Forum and Future Docs program.

Now, after years of helping others keep it together, he gets his turn to help take Rae apart! We’re looking forward to hearing what he has to say as we celebrate Rae’s 26 years of service and raise funds for Southeast Tennessee Project Access, LifeBridge and Future Docs.

The theme of World Anesthesia Day 2026 recognizes the many ways anesthesiologists support patients throughout their journey, from their first contact with healthcare through treatment, recovery and beyond.

Anesthesiologists work in many settings, including emergency and prehospital care, operating rooms, intensive care, pain services and non-operating room care. They also support patients after discharge through services such as chronic pain and palliative care.

A media veteran of 46 years, Jeff Styles was the face of local talk radio when the format caught fire nationwide in 1992. He spearheaded the rise of WGOW to unlikely dominance over legacy radio stations in Chattanooga with 20x more wattage.

As a hangglider pilot, whitewater boater and backpacker, he's given much credit for Chattanooga's slow but steady reinvention from a southern rustbelt city to a global mecca for outdoor enthusiasts. His passion for music led him to a second full time career as a talent coordinator for Friends of the Festival, booking bands for Riverbend for nearly 20 years. He was chiefly responsible for the launch of the Riverfront Nights free concert series in 2007, overseeing the next 11 years of its explosive growth and success.

He currently hosts:
-Upfront Wrapup - a newscentric, point/counterpoint show on Mondays at During the Break, featured on all major podcast platforms.
-Rockaeology - An hour long, deep cut rock & roll radio show Friday nights at 7pm on the Eagle Radio Network.
-Scarred but Smarter - An interview show on addiction recovery for CADAS on the 15th of each month on Spotify and Apple.

Dr. Gene Huffstutter is a familiar face in Chattanooga’s medical community, serving as a local rheumatologist with Arthritis Associates. He served as president of the Chattanooga-Hamilton County Medical Society in 2015 and currently serves as president of both the Medical Foundation of Chattanooga and the Tennessee Medical Association. A longtime advocate for physicians and the medical profession, Dr. Huffstutter is trading his usual leadership role for a spot in the roasting lineup as we celebrate Rae and her 26 years of service to our community!
