🩰 A Stretch Therapist’s Perspective
I absolutely LOVE working with dancers. 🩰❤️
Dancers, ballerinas, and professional performers are some of my favorite clients to work with because their bodies are incredibly strong, conditioned, and smart. They know how to move—and they often have an impressive range of motion already.
But here’s the funny thing…
More flexible doesn’t necessarily mean easier to stretch! 😂
Dancers can actually be some of my most challenging clients because their bodies have been trained to create movement, stability, strength, and control in very specific ways. Years of repetitive movement can also create tightness and restrictions in places they don't necessarily feel.
So when I work with a dancer, I'm not necessarily trying to make them more flexible.
I'm looking at the bigger picture: ✨ Where are they restricted?
✨ Where are they compensating?
✨ What areas need more mobility?
✨ Where do they need to release tension?
✨ How can we help their body move more efficiently?
That's what I love about assisted stretching—every body is different, and every session is different.
Whether you're a professional dancer, an athlete, someone who sits at a desk all day, or someone who simply feels like their body doesn't move the way it used to…
There's always something we can work on. 💚
Your body doesn't have to be “tight” to benefit from stretching.
