Movement disorder neurologist, Dr. Deborah Hall, and research coordinator, Jackie Vanegas, (pictured above) attended the 2026 BLAAC PD Annual Meeting in New York City! 🗽🧬🧠

During the meeting, coordinators and Principal Investigators from all 11 BLAAC PD sites (slide 2) reflected on lessons learned throughout the study and shared practical strategies for navigating the final year of recruitment.

As of July, BLAAC PD has reached 536 participants with Parkinson’s disease making it one of the largest cohorts of Black and African American individuals contributing genetic data to Parkinson’s disease research.

We’re proud to be part of this collaborative effort to increase representation in Parkinson’s disease research and advance our understanding of the disease.
