📣 JAMA and the JAMA Network journals are issuing a call for papers on Women's Health.

Last year, we launched JAMA+ Women's Health, an initiative that offers expertly curated research and insights from work published in JAMA and the JAMA Network. An important goal of JAMA+ Women's Health is to shift the conversation about women’s health beyond the “usual” categories of reproductive health, pregnancy, menopause, and certain cancers.

To align with the 2027 International Women’s Day, JAMA and the JAMA Network journals will publish women’s health articles across the full spectrum of health care on March 8, 2027.

➡️ This call for papers will prioritize timely and novel research articles and opinion manuscripts. Manuscripts submitted by November 15, 2026, will have the best chance for consideration for simultaneous publication on International Women’s Day.

Among pediatric patients without structural heart disease, continuous 7-day monitoring detected more major and minor events than 24-hour Holter monitoring or 7-day event recording.

It also showed higher sensitivity and negative predictive value, and it was more often associated with changes in clinical management, particularly for tachyarrhythmias.

In a cohort of US adolescents, greater cumulative evening use was associated with delayed sleep timing and reduced total sleep time, with stronger associations at later evening cutoffs.

use in the final minutes before bedtime was associated with greater wake after sleep onset concentrated early in the night, which may inform behavioral approaches to improving adolescent sleep health.

📈 Among adolescents with prolonged recovery, a virtually delivered program improved symptom recovery speed and produced greater improvement in symptoms and health-related quality of life at 3 months vs a stretching control.

The intervention appeared most beneficial for acute or subacute recovery in patients who were injured within 3 months.

Among children and adolescents presenting to a specialist pediatric gender service, young people increasingly represented a larger share of patients over time and reported high levels of gender dysphoria.

Compared with binary transgender young people, nonbinary young people reported slightly lower body dissatisfaction and lower desire for some social, medical, or surgical affirmation, supporting person-centered gender-affirming care.

This cross-sectional study describes the gender-related clinical presentation of nonbinary young people initially attending a specialist pediatric gender service and compares this to transgender young people with a binary identity.

Wearable-derived estimates in the Adolescent Brain Cognitive Development Study closely aligned with published pediatric actigraphy references and showed a similar age-related decline across adolescence.

These findings support the population-level plausibility of the wearable-derived sleep duration estimates for pediatric sleep research.
