Recovery is not just about stopping. It is about figuring out why you started.

The counseling helps you get to the root of your issues. The stuff underneath that keeps pulling you back.

The 12 steps teach you how to live. How to deal with yourself, how to deal with other people, how to show up different than you did before.

And the medical care matters too. Your body takes a beating in addiction. Having real medical care while you work on the rest of it means you are not trying to heal with one hand tied behind your back.

But maybe the biggest piece is doing it alongside other people who are dealing with the same issues you are dealing with. We always say there is healing in shared suffering. When you realize you are not the only one struggling, and that it all leads to the same bad destination, something changes.

You do not have to do this alone.
