A FEW REMINDERS FROM YOUR DIETITIAN 🥑☕
Sometimes it’s not about doing MORE. It’s about paying attention to the little habits that can make a big difference in how you feel.
A few nutrition reminders I wish everyone knew:
1. Your afternoon coffee might be affecting your sleep. ☕
Even if you can fall asleep after an afternoon coffee, caffeine can still affect sleep quality and deep sleep. Caffeine can stay in your system for several hours. Try limiting caffeine after noon or at least 8 hours before bedtime if you’re sensitive.
2. Skipping meals isn’t doing your metabolism any favors. 🍳
Going long periods without eating can leave you feeling fatigued, increase cravings, affect blood sugar regulation and make it harder to meet your nutritional needs. Consistent meals help support energy, training recovery and overall metabolic health. Your thyroid needs adequate energy and nutrients, too!
3. High-protein convenience snacks aren’t always the better choice. 🥜
Just because something says HIGH PROTEIN doesn’t automatically make it nutritious. Look beyond the protein number. Consider fiber, ingredients, added sugars, overall nutrient quality and how satisfying it is. Sometimes a handful of nuts, Greek yogurt with berries or an apple with nut butter is a better-balanced option.
4. More restriction doesn’t mean better results. 🥑
Eating less, cutting more foods and constantly trying to be perfect can backfire. Your body needs adequate energy, carbohydrates, fats, protein, vitamins and minerals to function optimally.
5. Consistency beats perfection. 🌿
You don’t need a perfect diet. You need sustainable habits that support your energy, hormones, digestion, sleep and long-term health.
A little reminder: Nutrition is about more than calories and macros. It’s about nourishing your body in a way that helps you feel and function your best.
Save this as your reminder that sometimes the basics are what make the biggest difference!
