Two years ago this month I set out on a journey to practice midwifery more aligned to my heart & soul.
It would not have happened without the generous support and loving guidance of some wonderful midwives who believe in community over competition. And for that and them I am so grateful.
I don’t think midwife work is lonely work, I think much like birth it has always been communal.
We don’t learn or grow in isolation. I’m so grateful for all the elder teachers and wisdom keepers in my life. And always continuing to search for more.
Being able to invite the medicine woman, the curandera, into this work is what keeps it alive for me.
And it’s not just me, it’s the medicine woman and the midwife in all women, and all women who show up to my door.
Getting to witness women birth and rebirth before my eyes has been the greatest privilege and teaching of my lifetime.
Allowing midwifery to unfold as a Way of Life for me has been the greatest blessing.
Im grateful, hopeful, and humbled to see what the next years will bring, and indebted to every woman whether friend, colleague or client, that make this Way of Life possible ✨
And to my incredible rock of husband whose support and faith in me who without I would come home lost every night.
