Introducing LAUNCH @ Avant 🚀

One career-planning process, two directions it can take shape in: Launch Jobs @ Avant and Launch Business @ Avant.

Launch Jobs @ Avant covers real, paid, competitive work in the community — a job built around someone individually, or a role on a small team of two to four coworkers, always in a regular community setting, never separated off on its own.

Launch Business @ Avant is for people who want to build something of their own. That means help identifying a business idea, putting together an actual plan, and ongoing support once the business is launched — the planning and coaching are covered; startup costs aren't.

Both paths start the same way: a real conversation about what fits, before any placement decision gets made.

Let's bust another myth about REACH @ Avant: "Won't my family get cut out of the loop?"

Not at all — and this one's actually built into how the service works. Training family members, guardians, housemates, and anyone else closely involved isn't optional or an afterthought; it's a required part of setting Remote Supports up for someone. Everyone who needs to know what happens when an alert comes in gets trained on it from the start.

REACH @ Avant isn't about doing this alone. It's about making sure the right people are looped in, on purpose.

Flower crowns, lavender fields, and a little time in the woods — some days at Avant are just this good. 💜🌾

The team took a trip out to Battlefield Lavender for fresh air and a good stroll through the rows, then back home to get crafty (yes, those crowns are homemade). Simple moments, good company, great afternoon.

Big goals start with smart budgeting! 🎯💰
He is doing a fantastic job learning to count his money and build a budget that works for him. By carefully sorting his cash, adding up his spending money, and planning ahead, he's gaining confidence with every dollar. Instead of making impulse purchases, he is learning to save for the things that matter most to him. Every budgeting session is another step toward greater independence, and with this new skill, he's well on his way to reaching his next big goal.

Myth: “Isn't remote support less safe than having overnight staff?”

Truth: Every REACH@Avant plan has a written backup built in before day one; a named person who responds, at least one more backup if they can't, and a promise that in-person help shows up within 20 minutes if it's needed. In a true emergency, it's always 911, immediately. And yes, there's battery and generator backup too, so a power outage doesn't change any of that.

An alert doesn't go to voicemail. It goes to a Mentor who's already awake and watching for it.

Let's clear this one up. 👀

Myth: "Isn't remote support just cameras watching me?"

Truth: Most of REACH isn't video at all! We're mainly talking simple stuff — a door sensor, a motion sensor, a two-way speaker. If a camera's ever part of someone's plan, it's only because they asked for it and their team said yes. And even then? It never records, it's never in a bedroom or bathroom, and you can turn the whole thing off whenever you want.

We didn't build REACH to watch anyone. We built it to have your back.
