Respiratory Care Week Spotlight: Lisa Dunn, Ambu RT

As we celebrate Respiratory Care Week, we're highlighting the experiences, mentors, and moments that inspire careers in respiratory therapy.

Q: You had a long career as a respiratory therapist at the bedside before coming to Ambu. In your early days of being an RT, did you have a mentor, patient or experience that influenced or helped to shape the rest of your career?

A: I became a respiratory therapist because while working in cardiology doing stress testing, I assisted in pulmonary rehab getting vitals on patients in the rehab gym. I could NOT believe the difference between when they first arrived, and how much better they were after doing the rehab program! An RT named Doreen ran the program, and took time to show me some of the modalities they used, and I was fascinated! She is still one of my favorite RT’s, even though she is retired.
