July is Disability Pride Month! It is celebrated annually to commemorate the passage of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) on July 26, 1990. The month aims to celebrate disabled identity, challenge societal prejudices, and advocate for full inclusion. The 2026 theme is “The World Works Better With Us,” a statement emphasizing how communities, workplaces, and public life thrive when people with disabilities are respected and supported. The observance is often represented by the Disability Pride Flag, which features five colored diagonal stripes (representing different types of disabilities) on a black background.
