🗣️💙 This Therapy Thursday, we're recognizing International Stuttering Awareness Day!

Stuttering is just one part of how someone communicates. It doesn't define their intelligence, abilities, or the importance of what they have to say. Sometimes, the best way to support someone who stutters is simply to listen, be patient, and give them the time they need to share their thoughts.

At A Step Ahead, our skilled speech-language pathologists provide individualized therapy to help children who stutter develop communication strategies, build confidence, and feel comfortable expressing themselves.

🗣️🤟💬 October is AAC Awareness Month!

Communication is so much more than spoken words, and every child deserves a way to express their wants, needs, thoughts, and feelings!

At A Step Ahead, our speech-language pathologists work alongside children and families to explore AAC options as part of individualized speech therapy. From finding the right communication system, to assisting with evaluations, device trials, and the process of obtaining a device, our team is here to support each child's communication journey.

Our support continues through therapy as we help children build meaningful communication skills and empower families to encourage communication in everyday life.

This month, we celebrate all the ways children communicate because every voice matters, and every child deserves to be heard! ❤️💛💙
