The Center for Healthy Families Our purpose is to break the cycle of disadvantage that teen childbearing perpetuates through a holistic, coordinated system of community support.

Our vision is to be a catalyst for systemic change in the lives of teen parents and their children by not only what we do, but how we do it. For us, the means is as important as the end result. Breaking the cycle of disadvantage that teen childbearing perpetuates through a holistic, coordinated community system of support sums up the end result, and the means by which we plan to achieve it. Our promise is to build bridges to brighter futures for parenting teens and their children. Creating a model of support that can be replicated in other communities is part of our vision.

Day of The Girl 2026 was everything.

For the Center for Healthy Families, the day is more than a celebration—it’s an invitation for the entire community to stand with girls.

Because when girls are empowered, communities rise.

We will continue to share photos of the day, reminding us of what is possible when we show up for girls.

Yesterday was International Day of The Girl!

Observed every year on 11 October, International Day of the Girl is a global moment to celebrate girls everywhere, amplifying their voices, actions and leadership. It belongs to everyone who cares about girls and their rights. On this day, we come together to recognize and advocate for the full spectrum of girls’ rights.

This year’s theme was developed through consultations with girls, girls’ organizations and girl-led networks as well as civil society organizations and United Nations partners. Together, they called for urgent action to end child marriage and invest in girls’ rights.

The International theme aligns with our theme for our Day of the Girl Summit, “I’m Just a Girl,” Where our girls defined what girlhood means to them.

Day of the Girl provides an opportunity to raise awareness of the challenges girls continue to face around the world, including gender inequality, barriers to education, child marriage, and physical and emotional violence. It also serves as a call to action to invest in girls’ health, education, safety and legal rights.
