October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month. At Greenleaf, our team remains committed to helping individuals with disabilities obtain employment and develop careers, breaking down barriers that so many of our community members face.

“Everyone is a team… they have been super supportive of me.”

Last month, the Licking County Board of Developmental Disabilities published an article highlighting Project SEARCH, a nine-month high school transition program that provides pre-employment training and education for individuals with disabilities. Greenleaf is proud to lead Job Coaching and Job Development services for local programs participating in this impactful international program model.

Since the Licking County program began in 2016, more than 70 students have graduated, and 60 have transitioned to competitive jobs within the county. Several have also chosen to pursue higher education.

Throwback to a moment this summer that we're still celebrating.

This August, Greenleaf Job Coach and medal-winning boccia athlete Marck Harrison ignited the match for the Columbus Crew in celebration of their Soccer For All initiative. We were thrilled to have Marck represent Greenleaf at this event and are grateful to The Crew for supporting a more inclusive Columbus through Soccer For All.

Greenleaf’s keynote speaker, Mitchell Staugler, is the owner and publisher of Uniquely You! magazine, a publication dedicated to celebrating the stories and accomplishments of the disability community.

Joining Staugler is Victoria’s Secret’s ADAPT team, including Traci Hayes, Raegan Moorhead, Daniel Banks, and Molly Pizzino, who have not only supported Greenleaf’s mission for years but have also provided all of this year’s event volunteers.
