This week “from the 💈barber chair” we had a lesson from an egg lady! 😊Did you know chicken eggs get larger as the laying hen gets older. True! When a chicken starts laying eggs they are quite small, and called pullet eggs. From there when you buy them at a store they have been sorted to be small, medium, large and jumbo or extra large. If you purchase from a farmer , not a store, you may get an assortment of sizes in your carton. The color however, depends on specific breeds of chicken. When an egg gets old in the fridge, the egg white inside loses its protein and gets watery. If you were to crack an egg and the white is watery and not stuck to the yolk, it’s probably best to use that either in baking or get rid of it all together, but to eat it fried or hard boiled would probably not be a good choice. These 3 Amigos, 3 Stooges, Huey Dewey & Louie… whatever you want to call them , these brothers are a great way to end the work week. They make us laugh and truly enjoy the time giving them their cuts💈! They decided they looked like the mayor from Whoville when the Grinch buzzed him and that really got the laughter starting.!

In a barbershop, every week we seem to learn a fun fact. We’re going to start sharing one of them each week with you! This week the fun fact was… What is the longest river in all of North America? One might think the Mississippi but actually, it is the Missouri river. Starting in Three Forks, Montana, with the confluence of three rivers, the Gallatin, Jefferson, and Madison. At that point, they become the Missouri river and for 2341 miles, it is the longest river in North America until it meets near St. Louis and converges with the Mississippi River. In our great state of Nebraska, every single creek, stream and river flows into the Missouri river. Tune in each week to learn something from the 💈chairs of Northtown Stylists!😊

Today a client was ready to tone down spring/summer highlights. We applied REDKEN’s semi permanent glaze to about 70% of the hair and isolated 30% of the highlights to tone down the brightness for fall🍁🍂 If you’d like to create depth in your haircolor for fall & winter, this is a great option.
