WHAT CAN WE LEARN FROM THE IGHO UBIRIBO TRAGEDY?

Igho Ubiribo underwent an elective pe**le-enhancement procedure—and never came home.

His death was tragic, unnecessary, and should serve as a wake-up call for our entire industry.

We should not speculate before the investigation is complete. But we must confront an uncomfortable truth: possessing a syringe and purchasing filler do not qualify someone to perform pe**le enhancement.

This is not simply “putting filler in a p***s.”

The p***s has complex vascular anatomy. The injection plane matters. The material matters. The volume matters. Patient selection matters. And when something goes wrong, the person treating you must recognize it immediately and know how to respond.

That requires a real fund of medical knowledge—not a weekend course, an impressive social-media page, or a newly branded procedure.
