For years, many women entered menopause carrying more fear than useful information about hormone therapy.

That conversation is changing.

In February 2026, the FDA approved major labeling changes to several menopausal hormone therapy products, including removing certain risks from the boxed warning. Then demand for estradiol patches increased enough that manufacturers began expanding production.

To me, the encouraging part isn’t simply that more women are asking about treatment.

It’s that they’re asking better questions.

What symptoms am I actually trying to treat?
What are my individual risks?
Which route and dose make sense for me?
What alternatives exist?

That is what progress in medicine should look like. Less blanket thinking. More informed, individualized conversations.
