Have a safe and fa-boo-lous Halloween from our entire hospice family! 🎃
If you’re celebrating with an older adult or someone receiving hospice care, keep the festivities comfortable: clear walking paths, provide good lighting, and let your loved one choose how much activity feels right.
A quiet visit, a familiar fall movie, or enjoying the decorations together can be a lovely way to celebrate.
Wishing our patients, families, caregivers, and communities a little pumpkin-spiced joy!

A little spooky, a lot of fun, and a great night with the Avir at Corpus Christi team! 🎃👻
Joseph Angel, Community Liaison with Corpus Christi Hospice, joined AVIR for their Trunk or Treat, where their employees went all out creating booths for the celebration.
It was great spending time with Norma, DON; Yvonne, Administrator; and Activities Directors Belinda and Criselda, along with the rest of the AVIR team. Events like this are a fun way to stay connected with the people who care for our community every day.

Life is sweeter with a little chocolate. 🍫
National Chocolate Day is a chance to appreciate the small pleasures that make life feel familiar.
In hospice care, a person’s preferences matter. A favorite flavor, song, or story can help us understand what brings them comfort.
If your loved one has swallowing difficulties or other eating concerns, ask the care team how to offer favorite treats safely and comfortably. Let their wishes and comfort guide the experience.

Safer homes start with safe medication disposal. 💊
Prescription Drug Take Back Day is a reminder to check for medicines that are expired or no longer needed. If your household receives hospice care, ask the hospice team which medicines are still part of the care plan and how to dispose of those no longer needed. Go to Google Maps and type in "medication disposal near me" to find your nearest drug disposal location. https://www.google.com/maps/search/medication+disposal+near+me

Our teams from Brownsville, Harlingen, McAllen, Kingsville, Laredo, Corpus Christi, and Victoria came together for our Regional Meeting to exchange ideas, share updates, and learn what’s ahead. We also made time for team-building, getting to know each other better, and strengthening the connections that help us work better together.

A stronger team means stronger support for the communities we serve.
