Freaky Friday Post: MEDIEVAL EDITION!
Hear ye! Hear ye! A medieval medical mystery awaits. 👑
DID YOU KNOW?!?
During the Middle Ages prosthetic limbs weren't exactly the high-tech devices we know today! Knights who list limbs sometimes used prosthetic hands made of IRON!😱 These Medieval prosthetics could feature hinges, hooks, and mechanical fingers allowing their wearers to hold objects and in some cases even grip weapons!⚔ Imagine going to battle with an IRON HAND! 😳Thankfully, prosthetic technology has come a LONG way since the days of Knights and Castles!
Today modern prosthetics are designed with comfort, mobility and independence in mind.
🦿From medieval metal to modern mobility- we've come a long way!

Rainy, slower mornings have a way of quieting the noise and inviting reflection. With a warm cup of coffee in hand and pen to paper, it’s the perfect time to reassess goals and map out fresh strategies for growth. These are the moments where clarity meets creativity—and where good ideas become great plans! We are always striving here at PELICAN ORTHOTICS AND PROSTHETICS to make our patients get the best care possible!!
Have a great Wednesday and be safe in the rain.
