Come Learn With Us 🌱🐐 Kentucky Mushroom Festival Rustic Forrest Farm & Sanctuary

What if caring for animals wasn't only about what they could provide for us?

What if stewardship began by asking what the land and animals need from us?

I'll be teaching two classes at Kentucky Mushroom Festival this year:

🌿 Stewardship of Land, Animals & Community
Friday • 2 PM • Lions Mane Stage

We'll talk animal husbandry, goats, sustainable land management, parasites, fencing, predator protection, homesteading and the many different reasons people choose to keep goats—all through the larger question:
How do we learn to live WITH the land rather than simply ON it?

🐐 Learning to Listen: Animal Communication & Consent

Sunday • 12 PM • Lions Mane Stage

This one gets experiential.
We'll explore body language, proximity, boundaries, yes/no/maybe signals and what changes when we stop assuming interaction and allow an animal to choose it.
Hopefully a few opinionated little teachers will join me. 😉

Festivals can be exciting, educational, busy…and sometimes a LOT for the nervous system.

So we're creating somewhere you can wander into when you need something different.

🌿 When was the last time you allowed yourself to receive?

Not accomplish something.
Not take care of someone.
Not solve the next problem.
Not even try really hard to relax.

Just… receive.

This is something I understand personally, and it has become a huge part of the work I do at AHHA.

Many of the people who find their way to me are capable, driven, busy people. They're used to pushing through discomfort, living in their heads, taking care of what needs to be done, and moving on to the next thing.

Then they get on the table and I say, “You don't have to do anything right now.”

And sometimes that's the hardest thing I could ask them to do.

💚 So we practice.

Rather than telling you to “just relax,” I help you gently become aware of your body.

Where are you holding?
What happens when someone else moves your arm and you don't have to help?
Can you notice your breath without changing it?
Can your mind become quieter without forcing it to be quiet?
Can you allow yourself to receive touch, movement, sound, stillness or simply care without feeling like you need to participate or accomplish something?

I understand this struggle because I experience it too.

My own journey has taken me from a traditional medical background into therapeutic bodywork, movement, nervous-system-focused work, energy work and more metaphysical approaches to healing. That combination has profoundly shaped the way I work.

I don't see a muscle and forget about the person attached to it.

I look at the whole person—body, mind and spirit—and then I listen.

A session might include therapeutic massage, myofascial or neuromuscular work, craniosacral therapy, Thai bodywork and assisted movement, breathwork, sound, energy work, mindful movement, stillness, nature or connection with the animals.

But it doesn't have to include all—or even most—of those things.

Your beliefs matter. Your comfort matters. Your boundaries matter.

My personal beliefs don't need to become yours for us to work together. If energy or metaphysical work resonates with you, there is space for it. If it doesn't, there is absolutely no expectation that it become part of your session.

My role is to remain present, listen with my hands and my experience, and allow your body and your goals to help guide our work together.

And if you've never had massage, bodywork or energy work before, you are welcome here too. You don't need to know what to ask for. You don't need to understand the terminology. And you definitely don't need to be “good at relaxing.”

Maybe we simply start by learning how to receive. 🌿

Sessions can take place in our peaceful wellness loft or outside in nature at Rustic Forrest Farm & Sanctuary.

🌿 Healing isn’t one-size-fits-all—and neither are our sessions.

At AHHA – Awareness of Healing for Humans & Animals, we create individualized sessions based on you—how your body feels, what you’re navigating, and what you need that day.

Your session might blend therapeutic massage, craniosacral therapy, myofascial release, Thai bodywork, assisted stretching, energy work, sound therapy, breathwork, yoga, time in nature, or connection with our animals. 🐐🌲🎶

There’s no set formula and no expectation that you arrive knowing exactly what you need. We’ll talk about what’s going on, listen to what your body is communicating, and create an experience together.

Sometimes that means focused work for chronic pain or an injury.
Sometimes it means slowing down and regulating an overwhelmed nervous system.
Sometimes healing happens while breathing beneath the trees, listening to a sound bowl, or simply sitting beside an animal. 💚

Come exactly as you are. We’ll meet you there.

🌿 Yoga. Awareness. Connection. 🌿

At AHHA — Awareness of Healing for Humans & Animals, yoga is about so much more than movement.

It is an opportunity to become aware.

Aware of your breath.
Aware of your body.
Aware of your nervous system.
Aware of the places you're holding tension and the places asking for movement.
Aware of the animals, nature, and community around you.

Join Samantha at Rustic Forrest Farm & Sanctuary every Monday & Wednesday at 6:30 PM for an approachable, awareness-based yoga practice.

🌤️ Beautiful evening? We take our practice outside, surrounded by the farm, trees, animals, and open sky.

🌧️ Weather not cooperating? We move indoors and create a quiet, supportive space to practice.

Each class may weave together gentle movement, restorative postures, breath, mindfulness, and nervous-system awareness. There is always room to modify, rest, explore, and listen to what your body needs that day.

And because AHHA is built around the belief that humans and animals can support one another in healing and connection, you can choose to stay afterward for a little extra time with the goats. 🐐💚

🌱 5-Class Pass: $50
🐐 Optional goat visit or snuggles available

You don't have to be flexible.
You don't have to know yoga.
You don't have to arrive feeling calm.

Come as you are.

The practice begins with noticing where you are today—and learning to meet yourself there.

✨ What if your healing session was created entirely around YOU? ✨

Healing isn’t one-size-fits-all—and your session doesn’t have to be either.

Here at the farm, we can create a private, personalized healing experience based on where you are, what your body and nervous system are asking for, and what you hope to receive from your time here.

Maybe you’re looking for deep rest after carrying too much for too long. Maybe you need space to reconnect with yourself, move through a transition, quiet your mind, release tension, or simply be somewhere you don’t have to do anything for anyone else.

Before your session, we’ll talk about your intentions and goals. From there, we can weave together an experience that may include:

🌿 Time immersed in nature
🎶 Sound bowls, vibration & sound healing
🧘 Meditation, breathwork & gentle movement
✨ Energy work & nervous system support
💆 Integrative bodywork
🐐 Connection with the animals
🌳 Quiet reflection in the woods or on the farm
🕯️ A peaceful indoor/loft experience when you want a more private, cozy space

Your session might be deeply restorative and quiet, or it might involve movement, exploration, animals, laughter and connection. The experience is built around you.

Come for an hour. Stay a little longer. Give yourself permission to slow down and see what unfolds.

🌿 Private sessions currently available:
Monday • Tuesday • Wednesday • Friday • Saturday

Located at Rustic Forrest Farm & Sanctuary in Cox’s Creek, Kentucky.

Message me to schedule or tell me what you’re hoping to receive from your time here, and we’ll create an experience specifically for you. 💜

✨ At AHHA Center, we believe healing is as unique as the individual. Experiences like this invite us to slow down, become more present, and explore our inner landscape with curiosity and intention.

If you've been feeling called to reconnect with yourself, the symbolism of the 8/8 portal makes this a meaningful time to set intentions and embrace personal growth. Whether your path is through mindfulness, movement, energy work, nature, or therapeutic bodywork, every step toward greater awareness matters.

We're excited to support La Catira and Collective Wellness & Spa as they bring this unique experience to our community. 💛

👉 Check out the event, invite a friend, and let us know if you'll be joining us! We can't wait to hear about your experience. ✨🌿

🌿💆‍♀️💆‍♂️ BODYWORK & WELLNESS SESSIONS AT PLAYTHINK 💆‍♂️💆‍♀️🌿

Festivals can be magical, inspiring, and deeply nourishing—but they can also be physically demanding. Whether you've spent the day dancing, hiking, camping, carrying gear, attending workshops, or simply soaking in all the experiences, sometimes your body asks for a little extra support.

This year, AHHA will be offering therapeutic bodywork and wellness sessions throughout PlayThink with Samantha Bayless and Jacob Gilbert.

✨ Jacob Gilbert, LMT Jacob specializes in deep tissue massage, neuromuscular therapy, pain relief, recovery, and naturopathic wellness coaching. His approach is practical, therapeutic, and focused on listening to what your body needs in the moment.

Festival Rate: 💚 $80 / 60 Minutes 💚 Sliding scale available for those experiencing pain or financial hardship

✨ Samantha Bayless, LMT, RYT Samantha offers integrative bodywork that blends Ashiatsu, Thai Massage, Shiatsu-inspired techniques, energy work, and intuitive wellness practices. Sessions often explore the connection between physical tension, emotional patterns, stress, and overall well-being.

Festival Rate: 💜 $120 / 60 Minutes 💜 Longer sessions available as scheduling allows

Our goal isn't simply to help you feel better for a few hours. We want to help you reconnect with your body, understand what it may be trying to communicate, and leave feeling more grounded, comfortable, and supported.

🐐 Between Goat Yoga classes and Goat Wind Down sessions, we'll be offering appointments throughout the weekend.

Whether you're seeking relief from sore muscles, support for an old injury, nervous system regulation, emotional processing, or simply a quiet moment to reconnect with yourself, we'd be honored to work with you.

Stop by our space during the festival to learn more, meet the goats, ask questions, or schedule a session.
