When I talk about weight loss, I’m not speaking from a textbook—I’m speaking from personal experience.

🧬 When it comes to hormone optimization, MORE testosterone doesn’t always mean BETTER results.

A testosterone level is only one piece of the puzzle. At Cornerstone Wellness Center, we believe hormone therapy should be based on the whole clinical picture—your symptoms, goals, response to treatment, lifestyle, and a comprehensive review of your labs.

One important marker that can easily be overlooked is SHBG (S*x Hormone-Binding Globulin).

SHBG binds to testosterone and helps regulate how much testosterone is actually free and available for your body to use. This means two patients can have the exact same total testosterone level but have very different amounts of active, free testosterone.

⬇️ When SHBG is low, a larger percentage of testosterone may remain free. In someone receiving testosterone replacement, simply increasing the dose to chase a higher total testosterone number can potentially push free testosterone higher than intended and increase the risk of unwanted effects.

That’s why we don’t treat a number—we treat the individual.

At Cornerstone, hormone optimization may include evaluating:

• Total Testosterone
• Free Testosterone
• SHBG
• Estradiol
• CBC/Hematocrit
• Metabolic and liver markers
• Thyroid and other hormone pathways when appropriate
