Veterans deserve continued access to the care they need!

Many VA Community Care massage therapists are facing concerns over payment recoupments, also known as “clawbacks.” These situations could potentially force providers to stop accepting VA referrals, leaving veterans with fewer options for managing chronic pain.

For many veterans, massage therapy isn't just about relaxation. It's about pain relief, improved mobility, and a better quality of life.

As a massage therapist who has had the privilege of serving veterans, I don't want to see anyone lose access to care that has helped them.

Every time you walk, stretch, flex your feet, or move your ankles, your calf muscles contract and help push blood from your lower legs back toward your heart. This is known as the calf muscle pump.

Whether you work at a desk, drive for a living, or spend hours scrolling on your phone, prolonged sitting can take a toll on your body.

☀️ Summer is here, and with the warmer temperatures comes an important reminder: Stay hydrated!

Many people think drinking plain water is enough, but when you're sweating more, your body is also losing important electrolytes like sodium, potassium, and magnesium. These minerals help regulate muscle function, energy levels, and hydration.

Signs you may be dehydrated include:
💧 Headaches
💧 Fatigue
💧 Muscle cramps
💧 Dizziness
💧 Dry skin

Along with drinking plenty of water, consider adding electrolyte-rich foods and beverages such as watermelon, cucumbers, coconut water, oranges, berries, and leafy greens.

As a massage therapist, I often see clients dealing with muscle tension and cramping that can be made worse by dehydration. Taking care of your body from the inside out can help you feel better and get the most from your massage sessions.

Stay cool, stay hydrated, and enjoy your summer! ☀️🌴
