Your heart starts racing, you feel pain in your chest, you have tingling in your fingers, sometimes your lips, you feel nauseous and dizzy. Anxiety is a real thing and it can be very frightening.
Today, I’m sharing my story with you. The last few months have been extremely difficult for me. With daily life, starting a new business, work and being a primary care giver for one of my parents has been extremely draining. As I learned to cope with living on adrenaline, when things ramped up recently I experienced my first panic attack. Scared beyond belief, I finally managed to calm down after an hour and a half. I have had a few since then, sometimes waking me up in the middle of the night. What I learned is that breath is key. Breathing in slowly and deeply, and visualizing myself in a calm state. As I continue to deal with this new condition, I will be researching the best natural supplements and techniques to calm the mind, focus on my breath, and practice yoga , several times a week. I will keep everyone updated on the best supplements, vitamins and minerals to help with anxiety and stress.

Balance is key 🔑 when you are trying to conceive. As women, we can be so restrictive with exercise, diet and multi-tasking, we don’t realize the havoc this plays on our hormones.

If you’ve been trying to get pregnant and haven’t been successful, ask yourself the following questions…

- Are you over exercising? Instead of doing several HIIT workouts per week, try more gentle forms of exercise like yoga , barre and Pilates. The more gentle exercise will soothe your adrenal glands and reduce stress and cortisol levels. 🧘🏻‍♀️🌸

-Are you being to restrictive with your calories? If your body is always in starvation mode, you’re creating a stressful environment for your body. Eat well balanced meals made with whole foods 🥙🥗🥑

-Are you burning a candle at both ends? Waking up early and going to bed late? Aim for at least 7 hours of sleep each night. Ditch your electronics before bed and read a book or take a long hot bath with essential oils 🧴

-Are you under constant stress? Stress management is crucial when trying to get pregnant. Try take time out for you. Do things you enjoy that are relaxing. Self-care and decreased stress will create all safe environment for a little miracle to take place.

✨ identify what is out of balance in your life and set goals. Be kind to yourself band don’t expect to change everything all at once. To be consistent, you have to plan out achievable goals.

You don’t always have to sit still in silence to meditate…when you can take a moment and truly take in what surrounds you and pay attention to each detail, that’s when the magic happens.

We live life in the fast lane, most days just blend into the next and we often wonder where the weeks went. Slow dow! Take a few deep breaths, allow yourself to sit with your feelings, observe them and all your surroundings. We promise you will feel more relaxed instantly.

As I’ve been struggling in my own way lately, feeling overwhelmed and burned out, this weekend was a great reminder to slow down and take in all the beauty that surrounds me. We only have a certain amount of time on this earth… how do you want to spend it? Take the time to get centred. Allow the positive energy to flow. 💕🧘🏻‍♀️🙏🏻.

My youngest is always full of energy. Even after a busy day at school and soccer practice, he is still bouncing around. The abundance of energy never cease to amazing me! ⚡️

After a long week of sports camp and sleepovers, he took a moment to decompress on our hike today. We gave him the time he needed before continuing on. I always wonder what he is thinking about during these moments. 💕

Just like adults, children need to decompress, unwind, and regroup. Sometimes they need the time and space to reflect on their day. They will be able to think more clearly and positively while feeling more relaxed. Let them take the lead!

Cherries have been found to contain a high amount of melatonin; a hormone your body produces to regulate sleep.

Unplugged for the weekend.

Did you know there are many benefits when unplugging from technology?

It can reduce stress and anxiety, improve sleep, and increases your general happiness. 😁

It gives you time to reflect and reconnect with yourself, to be present in the moment, to focus on appreciation and gratitude, and to connect with nature and the people around you.

Grief is not a linear pattern, and is different for everyone. Wether it is the loss of a loved one, a dissolved relationship or marriage, a miscarriage or even the impossibility of a dream, it’s important to allow whatever feelings might come up. It’s important to sit with your feelings. Never judge what you are feeling and never feel guilty for not “being your best yourself “.
We all have our own path to grief and recovery. For some it’s important to seek counselling, for others it just feels right to navigate through the gamut of emotions and thoughts by journaling, talking with loved ones, or reading self-help books. Whatever feels right for you, I encourage you to do it. As I am navigating through my own journey with grief, I felt it was important to post this message to encourage anyone else going through a tough time to sit and remember that self care and doing what feels good to you is important. You’re never alone on this journey. We are all on this earth to learn important messages and the hardest moments are what allow us to grow. Sending warm hugs and positive vibes to everyone who needs them today. 💕🙏🏻

This weekend we spent some time .ca , a beautiful lavender farm in Prince Edward County and it was absolutely beautiful 🔆

Not only were the lavender fields blooming but we even had the chance to try some lavender ice cream and some honey lavender mead 🍯🥂🍨

Our July smoothie is a healthy spin on a tropical favourite 🍹🌴🥥. It packs a lot of flavour and is a great option for a light and nutritious breakfast!

Ingredients:
1 frozen banana, cut into 1 inch chunks
1.25 cups nut milk of choice (or coconut milk)
1 cup frozen pineapple chunks
3 tbsp shredded coconut
¼ cup rolled oats
¼ cup plain Greek yogurt (🥥substitute with dairy free coconut yogurt if preferred)

Joining a CSA share ensures that we will be eating fresh organic produce until the fall!

This weekend was the first dragon boat festival of the season! 🐲

Even though it was a hot weekend we managed to stay cool and hydrated! 💧

As a working mom with kids in competitive sports it can be difficult to find time for myself. This weekend has reminded me of how much I have missed doing something that I love. 💕

Think Zinc!!

Zinc has so many important functions in the body including immunity, carbohydrate metabolism, synthesis of DNA 🧬, healing time after surgery and is needed for the synthesis of more than 100 enzymes! An another important roles of zinc is it’s ability to control acne!

The birth control pill 💊 unfortunately leads to a zinc deficiency over time by increasing copper in the body. Copper competes with zinc for absorption and utilization. Increased copper in the body=decreased zinc. High levels of copper and decreased levels of zinc on the body can lead to depression, impaired immune function, hair loss, acne, loss of appetite, eye and skin lesions.
