Breast cancer and its treatments can have lasting effects on the lymphatic system.

Certain treatments may increase the risk of secondary lymphedema, which can cause persistent swelling, heaviness, tightness, or other changes in the arm or hand.

During Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we’re raising awareness of this connection so patients know what to watch for and when to talk with their healthcare professional.

This past weekend, Koya Medical was pleased to participate in three conferences bringing together healthcare professionals across the vascular, wound, and lymphatic care communities.

On October 3–4, our teams:

- Exhibited at the 2026 Advanced Wound Care Symposium: Lymphedema and Associated Wound Care

- Exhibited at the 2026 UCLA Wound Care Symposium

- Exhibited and presented during Demos & Discussions: Lymphedema at The VEINS at VIVA

These events provided valuable opportunities to connect with healthcare professionals, exchange perspectives, and support continued education around the care of patients with vascular and lymphatic disease.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by, participated in the discussions, and connected with our teams.

Continue building your knowledge of venous and lymphatic care with the second program in Koya Medical’s educational series.

Building on concepts introduced in our first program, this practical, evidence-based course takes a deeper look at lymphedema and venous disease. Attending both programs provides a more comprehensive learning experience, but each course can also stand on its own.

All healthcare professionals are welcome to attend, and CEUs are available for nurses.

📅 Phlebolymphedema and the Venous-Lymphatic Connection – October 13

The course is offered at 12:00 PM, 3:00 PM, and 8:00 PM ET to fit your schedule.

We hope you'll join us as we explore the latest clinical evidence and practical insights to help improve care for patients with venous and lymphatic conditions.

Koya Medical offers expert-led educational programs for healthcare professionals, advancing lymphedema and venous disease care. Contact us to learn more.

September is Vascular Disease Awareness Month, an opportunity to look more closely at how venous and lymphatic health are connected.

Chronic venous insufficiency (CVI) can increase the fluid burden on the lymphatic system. Over time, this can contribute to the development of phlebolymphedema, a type of secondary lymphedema.

Recognizing the venous lymphatic connection is an important part of understanding chronic swelling and supporting appropriate long-term care.

🐾 Happy National Dog Day!

At Koya, dogs are part of our culture. They’re our loyal companions, our favorite coworkers - and they have a pretty good way of keeping us moving, too.

Whether it’s a daily walk, a game of fetch, or simply having a four-legged friend by our side, dogs remind us that movement, connection, and a little play can make every day better.

Today, we’re celebrating the dogs who keep us active, bring us joy, and make life a little more fun.

TEAYS Subgroup Analysis | Phlebolymphedema

Phlebolymphedema is a type of lymphedema caused by Chronic Venous Insufficiency (CVI). Because two different systems are involved, it's important to study treatments specifically in people with this condition.

The newly published TEAYS subgroup analysis evaluated how Dayspring performed in patients with phlebolymphedema.

Compared with the advanced pneumatic compression device (APCD) comparator, Dayspring demonstrated:

✅ Greater limb volume reduction
✅ Clinically meaningful quality of life improvement
✅ Higher treatment adherence
✅ Stronger patient preference
