📊 gonorrhea cases among Kaufman County youth have nearly doubled since 2019.

Between 2019 and 2023, gonorrhea cases among people ages 15–24 in Kaufman County increased by 172%. And here’s the thing — gonorrhea is becoming harder to treat. Some strains are developing resistance to antibiotics, making early detection more critical than ever.

The good news? testing is quick, confidential, and available even without insurance. if you’re sexually active, routine screening is one of the smartest things you can do.

syphilis cases among young people ages 15–24 have surged nearly 7x since 2019. that's a 667% increase in just four years - one of the sharpest climbs we've seen in any Texas county.

syphilis can go months - even years - without showing symptoms. that means someone can have it and pass it on without ever knowing. the good news? it's completely treatable when caught early.
