On Saturday, November 7th, Cash and I will participate in The Light the Night walk for Blood Cancer United (formerly the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society).

It's been an incredibly booked and busy fall season starting high school & competitive marching band, but it's very important to Cash that we go walk at Light the Night. So we will go, and he will stand in the survivor circle and raise his white lantern to symbolize the courage of his three year fight against childhood leukemia, and then we will walk to raise money for research to eradicate this blood cancer that affects the lives so many children each year.

You guys, I can't believe how quickly time is flying. Here we are... HIGH SCHOOL.

It seems like just a couple of months ago I was trying to figure out how to tell Cash that he wasn't going to be able to go to school for fourth grade because of his chemo treatments.

He has done nothing but absolutely conquer everything in front of him since the day he was diagnosed. And I'm really seeing that come out in him here in his first year in high school marching band.

His band is a state championship contender every year. It's an amazing program. It's also incredibly demanding. This child is out the door before 6 AM in the morning and doesn't get home till 7 PM some nights. 

He's working incredibly hard before and after practice to get all of his skills checked off so he can have a chance of marching this year as a ninth grader.  His grit and determination is pretty incredible. He's 14. But this is just who he is. 💪❤️
