Today, we celebrate Jesse’s miraculous recovery!

Poor Jesse carried a painful bleeding, weeping, cancerous tumor on the bottom of his foot for many months because his family had been told that he would have to have his foot removed to eliminate the diseased tissue.

A second opinion with Dr. Fling and the family resulted in a new plan with treatments to shrink the tumor to a size small enough to attempt a surgery that would save the paw and remove the tumor.

The operation was a success and now Jesse acts like the clock has been rolled back and he is playing like a kitten again! To watch him move, free of pain is the greatest sight to see! You would never know he is almost 14 1/2 years young too!

As a veterinary student, stepping into a new clinic can be intimidating, but from day one, the entire staff was incredibly welcoming. The East Lake team actively invested in my growth, breaking down complex procedures and sharing insights you just can't get from a textbook.
The ultimate highlight of my time there was watching how each doctor tackled emergency situations. Every single clinician brought their own unique style and approach to high-stress cases, and I walked away with a distinct, invaluable lesson from every one of them. Every decision was rooted in deep compassion, genuine patient advocacy, and a high standard of care.
Grateful is an understatement. Huge thank you to Dr. Fling, Dr. Hille, Dr Ian, and Kate for making this experience possible as well as the entire team at East Lake Veterinary Hospital for leveling up my skills, setting such an inspiring example, and reminding me exactly why I chose this field!

This nameless pup was recently brought by our clinic; his owner was spotted dumping him on the side of the road before driving off. A couple watched him briefly chase the vehicle he had been dumped from, before stepping in and rescuing him. In short order they were able to locate someone that would gladly take him in, and they met at East Lake to send him off to his forever home! A tragic story turned into a story of hope in no time at all, thanks to the kind hearts of multiple good samaritans!

A lost pup was brought into our clinic by a couple good samaritans, and after a brief microchip scan we were able to locate the owners! By the next morning the pup had been picked up and reunited with his family; all thanks to a few kind passerbys and microchip technology!
