We choose where we want to live and how to live, but it is not the place that will make you happy; it is not the people; only you can make yourself happy. Happiness does not depend upon external things. Excitement depends upon external things.

Temple of Compassion Foundation Day

Loving and divine souls,

Let the choicest blessings of God and the masters be upon all of you.

I take this opportunity to pray for you, and I send my best wishes on the occasion of the foundation day at the Temple of Compassion in Burton, Texas, which is celebrated on September 25.

This year celebrates its existence for a decade, serving humanity and serving as the principal residence and center of spiritual emancipation for female seekers.
This ashram is located in the lap of nature with a creek and four beautiful ponds.
It also features organic farming and go matas (Brahmin cows and calves).
It is a place of health and healing, sadhana and seva.

The name of this ashram is the β€œTemple of Compassion.” Compassion is the way to transform the heart by practicing kindness, mercy, affection, love, favor, and grace. Compassion is sympathetic concern for the sufferings and misfortunes of others.
The Buddha said, β€œThe world is full of suffering and desire is the cause.” The Buddha explained the path of moderation with the goal of enlightenment.

Let our lives be filled with kindness and compassion.
Let us live for others and help them be free from suffering in any form. This is an integral part of sadhana.

I take this opportunity to bow to all of you and the entire creation.

I pray that God will make our lives the means of serving and loving all without any expectation.

With love,
Prajnanananda

Homestead Ashram Foundation Day
Loving and divine souls,

Let the choicest blessings of God and the masters be upon all of you. I take this opportunity to pray for you, and I send my best wishes on the occasion of the foundation day of our ashram in Homestead, which was inaugurated on 22 September 1997 by our Beloved Shri Gurudev.

This year marks the beginning of the 30th year of this ashram. Though this ashram is only five acres, in the words of Shri Gurudev it is a paradise full of fruit-bearing trees, flowering plants, a pond, an island, a vegetable garden, walking paths, and many other features.

Shri Gurudev spent over five years of the later part of his life here. In this tropical region Shri Gurudev could feel like he was in India. He loved gardening since childhood and continued to nurture this love here. He regularly toured the garden and taught gardening to the residents. He was expert in grafting fruit trees. On one mango tree he could graft five varieties of mangoes.

Shri Gurudev declared that every human being should be like a fruit-bearing tree and live not for itself, but for others. A tree lives for the earth, the environment, the birds, the animals, and humans. Our lives should be not only for ourselves or our family, but ultimately for the entire creation.

Let us follow the example, the foot prints, and the vision of Shri Gurudev: Let us transform our lives.

I offer my prostrations to all of you with humility and love, and I pray for the entire creation.

With love,

Prajnanananda

When we have love within, communication is much easier. If we have hatred within, we cannot communicate properly. If we have understanding, communication is much easier. It is very easy to communicate when two people understand each other.
