Every fall, we see the same wave of injuries: twisted ankles, collisions on the field, hard falls at practice. If your athlete gets hurt, here’s how to know what needs to be checked.
Come to the ER right away if:
- There’s a visible deformity
- They can’t put weight on it
- The pain is severe
- There’s a head injury with confusion, vomiting, or loss of consciousness. This is always an ER visit, no exceptions.
A mild sprain that’s swollen but still moveable may be manageable at home with rest and ice. If it isn’t improving in a day or two, come see us.
With imaging on site, we can get you answers fast, any hour of the day or night.
