There’s another reason we love fall: tallow behaves a whole lot better when it’s not 100° outside.

Tallow naturally softens above about 90°. So when a jar spends a July afternoon in the back of a delivery truck, it can arrive melted, separated, or grainy.

The good news? The benefits are still intact. But it’s not quite the same jar we packed by hand.

Now that the weather is cooling down, we can finally ship without worrying about the Texas heat working against us.

The first time my sister, a new first-time mom, heard about beef tallow, she was postpartum and had no idea what it was.

Everyone uses four times too much the first week, decides it’s greasy, and never touches it again.

Less than you think. Warm it between your fingers until it turns clear. Press it into damp, clean skin.
